I hate to say this but GM you owe previous ZL1 owners this courtesy order. They should have been installed in the 2013's but you sat on them for the next production run of cars. They are an option when ordering the Cadillac CTS-V! Come on stop trying to guess what will work next.

I wouldn't go so far to say they "owe" them to you. But they should make them available for previous model years yes.

I'm very interested in them. I've got that stupid seat creak and I've taken to the dealer once and their "fix" worked for two weeks but back to being annoying. Maybe a new seat would fix it

Thanks I was typing in a hurry without much thought. Yes, "making them available" to ZL1 owners is much nicer way of stating it.

OK, it has been awhile since I checked. Has anybody been able to buy COMPLETE ZL1 Recaro Seats over the counter yet? I know that there are a lot of 12 and 13 ZL1, SS and 1LE owners that would like to be able to order these for their cars. Anybody heard anything yet???

Thanks guys, a friend just bought a 2014 GT500 and wanted me to drive it and compare it to my ZL1. The Recaros in his car really seemed to be the same size and shape as the ones in the ZL1. They just fit me like a glove. He wanted me to drive it hard and I pushed it some but his car did not have 150 miles on it yet so I did not completely trash it. Besides he only lives a few houses away from me and we see each other all the time. Some immediate observations: I thought it was a stiffer ride than the Z. He said he had it in sport but I still thought it was stiffer than in my Sport mode. Also the engine did not seem to spool up as fast as compared to the Z. You could feel the torque moving the car quickly but the tach needle seemed to be crawling up. Of course it is a brand new engine that is still tight but the biggest thing was the shifter and clutch pedal. Much more effort is needed to push the clutch down and the shifter was nowhere as smooth as the Z's. And the last thing is the sound or lack of it. It does not have the Z's immediate start up rumble or it's take off roar, a much quieter sound for all of that horsepower. I did not have the chance to drive a GT500 before I bought my Z, but for me and my opinion, the Z is a much better overall package, even with 80 less HP. But the Recaros, they are definitely the best seat for either Camaros or Mustangs.
