M6 to A6
Well guys I'm thinking about trading my m6 SS for a A6 SS. I really like to take it to the track and I think the only way I'm going to get my times consistent and lower would be to go to an auto. What do you all think. Seems like everyone that dips into the 10s ends up going auto.

mods and launch timeing skill will will make up for it, if you want to get into the 9s it might be an issue.

Personally for me, the biggest part of driving is rowing your own gears. But then automatics have came a LOOOOOOOONG way from what they once were. A small portion of them are already outperforming manuals. I'm sure in 4-5 years it will be the standard. Regardless, I'll still opt for the manual if I had the choice. I say in your position, since you already have the car, just stick with it and practice.

I agree that an A6 is probably more consistent and faster on the strip, but the AFM for daily driving would drive me nuts. I guess it just depends on how much you really like fast times at the strip vs. being able to buzz the tires at will. Personally, I really enjoy the M6 but I don't drive in any areas with heavy traffic.

Even as an A6 owner, I would have preferred a M6, but it is far too populated here to deal with the headache.. not to mention the wife cannot drive stick. I will admit it is much easier on the strip, no doubt there lol... I do miss rowing though.

I've been thinking about doing the same, but for a different reason ... My right shoulder is messed up, and at times it hurts like hell to shift.

Well you're definitely doing it for a good reason. Once you start modding these cars for the drag strip the A6 rules...

Go for what you want, I personally wanted a M6. I will mod the crap out of my car, and make it so I can drop the clutch at 5K plus at the track. But I dont mind rowing the gears at all, just more fun all the way around.

Yeah I'm pulling my turbos off this weekend and doing it. Kinda sucks that I finally got it all done and now I decide to do this. I love my M6 but but it's not for the 1/4( well not with me driving it anyway).
