Long Tubes w/ Flowmaster Force II or American Thunder systems...Low Speed Drone???

I have purchased a set of 1 7/8" long tube headers with cat delete pipes and was planning on using either the American Thunder or Force II Flowmaster axle-back system. I will be leaving the stock mid-pipe and resonator in place..for now, unless someone gives me a reason why I should remove it. I was just wondering if anyone was running this setup and could tell me if they are experiencing or have experienced the dreaded low speed drone???? If so, what if anything did you do to get rid of it? Thanks in advance for your help

If you're gonna run catless, it will drone like a mofo. The Force II I'd wager is actually more restrictive than the stock mufflers. Actually, I'd say all of the Flowmaster chambered mufflers are. I ran the Outlaws for that specific reason, they're the only ones that aren't restrictive.

Long tubes w/ cats and delta force ii here on l99... and I love it! The like I said, I have cats, and replaced that huge resonator with an x-pipe. I have zero drone issues ever. Cold start it's loud, when you're cruising around it's calm but when you put the pedal to the floor it's screams as loud as anything else! I chose this route strictly for the drone issue. Some people don't mind it, but it bothers me. Only other exhaust I've found similar to the delta as far as drone was Corsa... but I didn't have $1000+ at the time to get it. But I love the set up!

Thanks...I was concerned that removing the cats and the factory resonator might give it the dreaded low rpm, highway speed drone! I'm leaning towards your exact setup so I'm hoping by "not much drone" you meant barely noticable and not annoying at all...cause some peoples "not much" could be someone elses nails on the chalk board annoying...lol

I have been looking into the possibility of using J-pipes but, I dont want to have use a pair of coke cans for mufflers in order for them to fit. With the smaller mufflers the system would be too loud for my tastes when Im accelerating or foot to the floor letting the big dog eat! I haven't done any hard core measuring but, from what I see it looks as though the j-pipes wouldnt fit neatly with the Flowmaster American Thunder system.

I have that on my car...its in place of my x pipe and doesnt seem restritive at all. Sounds good and aggressive.

Flowmater 10 series with custom resonator pipes

I have Flowmaster 10 series on my SS LS3 manual 6. Not restrictive, but they droned like a mother at 1800-2000 rpm at freeway speed, in 6th especially. I went with custom resonator tubes, 2.25" dia. and 28" length. This setup completely killed the drone, and I still have all the rumble that I wanted from the 10 series mufflers. This is a cheaper option than the Solo J-pipes, but mine aren't adjustable.
From the pics you can see that there is plenty of room back there to work with, even with larger mufflers.

Exactly it is very subjective. I also have 3.91 gears so I cruise at a higher rpm.
