2011 or 2012 SS?

So I can pull a 2011 off of a local lot or I can order the exact same car for about (only 2012) for about $900 more.

Advantages of the 2011 (to me): I can get it right away and I like the 2010/2011 steering wheel, plus an extra $900 to use towards mods

Advantages of the 2012: newer model year for value and the fe4 suspension upgrade, back up camera.

I would like to get your guy's opinions. I know that its hard for others to judge the fe4 suspension since its not really available to drive yet, but give me your best guess. Is it going to be worth the extra 900 bills and the wait?

I think you could get more off the 2011 SS.

I bought a 2011 a couple weeks ago. Just because I wanted the interior.

it will cost more then $900 to match the suspension unless your are planing on custome anyways.

11. You'll get a better deal, and you won't be stuck with that awful steering wheel...

the only thing that would sway me in the direction to the 2012 is the suspension i know the backup camera is nice and im pissed that my antenna is black instead of cgm, but even though every write up talks crap about the steering wheel i personally love it vs the generic wheel from the cruze, door lock button on the door u get used to it in the center or just pull the handle twice, and i like my old school gauges. I bought my car almost 6 months ago and when the 2012 options came out i was upset about the suspension and the antenna and the back up cam but im happy i have the old school wheel and gauges and would get the 2011 again if i had the choice between that and the 2012.....o yea and they dont offer cgm anymore!!! <---always makes me grin

the only real advantage to the 2012 is the suspension, but it's also going to weigh more than the 2011.

I told the lot with the 2011 the price I had for ordering the 2012 and $900 below is the best that they said they could do.

I may try to work them a little more this weekend, but honestly I'm not sure they will compete. To be fair, the 2012 price I am getting is invoice.....

well, I was in almost the same position. I'm trading my 1LT in for a 2SS. I could of drove home in a 2011 (same year i already have) or ordered a 2012. I just ordered a 2012. Dealer said he would sell it to me for the same as the 2011 they had. So for the same price I get a car that's a year newer with a couple of new features. Plus it's built exactly the way I want and just for me. Justified my trade a little more lol.

is it really worth the wait? i think that's up to the person. for me it is. I'm not in any kind of rush. But I could of just as easily searched around for a 2011 that had the specifications I wanted and went home happy. I'd rather just wait for something I know I want then just get something to satisfy me now and later regret it. I think I would of regretted getting a 2011 the same time the 2012's were coming out.

If you think the new suspension and back-up camera are something you would put to use, go for the 12 and order all the other options you want as well. If you don't think you'd use the back-up camera and aren't looking to corner at high speeds or drive on a track, buy the 11 and save yourself the $900 for title, registration, and inspection fees + mods
