Need to select a BOV for my supercharger
So clearly any positive displacement style blower wouldn't need a BOV because it's pulling air from the throttle but centrifugal style blowers, as i undderstand it, are no different than turbos in that they push the air onto the throttle plate and therefore should use a BOV.
I have such a configuration and am concerned about component durability, harmonics, erratic sensor readings and all sorts of other potential issues if I don't vent the pressure on throttle close events. However the issue I face is that most BOVs are designed for systems that already have a tube that will accept the BOV flange. In my case I need to install the BOV from scratch and I don't have a welder, nor am I inclined to fabricate an adapter tube for a BOV. My SC outlet is 3.5" and the Camaro's stock induction is 4" so I will need a reducer anyway so either of those diameters will work fine for me. What I'm looking for is a bolt-on style BOV that is the simplest possible design. I don't need vacuum lines, bypass pipes or anything like that... just when the psi reaches a certain value, it dumps to atmosphere. That's it. Is there any sort of easy bolt-on BOV that will vent at around 10 psi, which doesn't require fabrication? I'm assuming any such kit would include a pipe section that you would put inline with the rest of your intake, with diameter matched. I would seriously appreciate any recommendations because I'm having a heck of a time finding something ready to go that fits my pipe and doesn't require hoses and vacuum lines.. Thanks!

Nobody ever plumbed a simple BOV into a pipe before without welding? I'm thinking I might be forced to do this somehow. All the pipe adapters I managed to find are for really small pipes.

wait i don't get it. The turbos or prochargwr push the air thruough the engine so the blow off is used to save the the throttle body and the turbos when you release the throttle. the supercharger is after the throttle body so a blow off is pointless since the air is suched.

Your original post is really confusing. Assuming you're talking about a procharger or Ecs unit you'll need a blow off valve. Weld and ONLY WELD a flange to mount it to. Don't use jb weld or any other quick fix crap under that type of pressure it will fail and break off. There are two types of options for mounting a blow off valve. First the standard v-band that usually is the best option strongest hold under any boost. Second option is a small port that is only a couple inches tall you can use a coupler to connect the pipe to a bypass valve which comes standard on the procharger system.

It's an ESC, to clarify. I'm not familiar with a v-band. Is that a custom piece of pipe with the coupler already welded in? Because I looked for that and only found 3.5" diameter. I suppose I could make due with that if necessary.
I asked the manufacturer of the ESC and he said there's a rule of thumb that less than 7 psi you don't strictly need a BOV because the pressure can back-flow through the impeller without causing damage. I believe this is true but I also think the stress on the components is not great either. Probably wouldn't break anything but can't be good for the belts and bearings.

All a v-band is a clamp that mates two pieces together without needing a gasket they're generally 1.5-2.5 inches depending on the valve used. Just google tial bov with v band you will see all the pieces needed.
