I hear ya with the noise, my neighbors down the block hear me when I start up at 0530 every morning. I kinda don't care but I kinda do too. I'd invest in some electric cut-outs or diverters with some mufflers. Best of both worlds.

Don't listen to the folks crying foul and suggesting you get a Prius instead. I have the same disposition about my exhaust popping and people jump all over me for that, too. It's possible to tone the car down some but, it'll all involve exhaust work. Get a system with resonators in them or, just get some welded into the stock piping - I'm sure there's room somewhere. If that's not your bag, you may want to consider high-flow cats. They'll help some but honestly, not much.

Having the performance is one thing, having a bit of consideration is another.

It's all in the mufflers, you can make that thing whisper quiet with the right set of mufflers.

And wtf you doing coming home at 2am everynight?

At this point, I agree that the resonated x-pipe is great option. I can't speak for Camaro, but on my '96 LT4 Vette, no mufflers, cats, and with a Hotcam, the Magnaflow resonated x-pipe did a great job.

Add this to the system and it will quiet it down, and tone it as well. If it's still too much, then go with something like the Borla S type or touring mufflers on the back. That would probably get you "just above" stock sound levels, at least until you get out of the neighborhood.

Im about to get this nightfury cammed car it has SW LT, cats Xpipe and borla atak mufflers is there any ways I could make it neighborhood friendly? I love the loping but its really loud it shakes the garage and I have a baby at home and I come home at around 2 in the morning.

I saw a similar thread but the OP didnt seem to post what he end up doing...
Come listen to my car, then you won't think yours is loud anymore.

J/K. Like JDP said, a resonated X-Pipe would be a good start. Other than that your only option would be to change the exhaust. Then NPP exhaust really does sound nice if you go that route.

A local friend has exhaust setup similar to yours, same catback.

Magna flow 2 into 2 resonator (welded where stock x pipe was located) quieted the car down a lot. He's sbc88 on here if you want to ping Steve.

thanks for the input guys!

EDIT: Oh look!! my 1000th post since I joined 5 years ago woohoo!!!

I don't have an auto or any of those complications, but my stock mufflers are just fine with HF cats and headers. Tame enough at start up and cruising, but sound awesome when you hit the go peddle. Been on the road course several times and around 20K miles and they are still hanging in there. They are heavy, but still working.
