New Continentals from Discount Tire & Rebates

Scored new Continental DWS06 all around yesterday at Discount Tire. Since they have weird lifts The manager had 2 guys with 2 floor jacks & working together lift one side Then they grabbed 2 more jacks and did the other side. I looked later at home Can not see any marks anywhere from where they lifted. Now if everything goes to plan I should get (1) $70. rebate from Continental. (2) $75. rebate from discount 4th july sale. (3) $50. for opening a new Discount Tire card. I did let them stick me for extra road hazard warranty 100% replacement down to 3/32" or 3 years.

I just came from there. Got the same deal. It's good through tomorrow. I passed on the extra Discount tire credit card but got the other two. About covers all of the tire warranties. Tires will be in on Monday. They don't keep them in stock.

I always tell them no on the road hazard warranty. Immediately after I tell them no they offer it to me at a substantial discount. YMMV.

I use the Discount Tire credit card just for tires. Finance for 6-9 months interest free, plus bigger rebates.

You want the road hazard insurance. If you get a nail in the sidewall they will replace the tire for $ 25. I have had 2 very expensive tires replaced for $25 each.

Personally I never get it. By the time you pay for it, you can almost buy another tire and in over 1/2 million miles driving I can count the number of tires that couldn’t be repaired due to road hazard on one hand with fingers left over.

My Understanding with Discount Tire is Free replacement or refund equal to the original tire if the tire cannot be repaired. But they do charge to mount & balance the new tire
