I was at the grocery store yesterday and put a quart of milk back in the cooler and instead am saving that money toward the inevitable engine replacement in the near future

So this weekend I:
Added two bottles of Seafoam and filled the tank Changed out my plugs Idle smoothed out a bit after driving 150 or so miles after the work was done. Tomorrow I'm having the transmission serviced. Thanks again for everyone's tips. They're being implemented... |

I am a service advisor by trade,
general 100k usually consists of: plugs trans flush rear diff fluid change coolant flush fuel system flush brake and power steering fluid flushes if the fluid looks aged

I don't think the Seafoam will be enough to remove those hard crystaline deposits from the valves. Also, using a cleaner like Seafoam can loosen some of lighter deposits which can get caught in the piston rings which can score the cylinder walls.
If I were you, I would the get the manual upper induction cleaning done on it if you never had a catch can. After you get the valves cleaned, then install a good catch can if you don't have one already. |
