O.E. front rotor info

Sorry, the search bar doesnt seem to like my phone. I have a friend looking for info on the O.E. front ZL1 rotors.
Anyone know the O.E. supplier? Or maybe already questioned, he's looking to replace the rotors but re-use the hats, what are the torque specs for the hardware? Thanks for any help/guidance in advance.

you cant just buy the rotor OEM. They come as hats and rotors. There reason they are 2 piece is performance not to add another GM sku number

I think one aftermarket company sold rotors no hats but ended up being as much as stock GM

I understand why they are manufactured as a two piece unit. Not exactly sure why he's looking for the torque specs of the hardware, but just trying to help find that info for him. Figured if I could find out the O.E. manufacturer, could then find a contact through them to procure this info. It is a unique build on a 96-ish Trans Am, so not sure if hes looking to use a different rotor with the stock hats of a '12-'15 ZL1.

I can't find any actual torque number, I used tight with a 1/4 ratchet. The holders are spring steel so I don't think you have to go crazy.

Hey guys for the info so far & thanks Grim for starting this thread!

So Grim's question pertains to my car. I have a 93 T/A that I'm heavily modifying and for the new front brake setup I choose are 2012-2015 14.6" ZL1 rotors with the gen2 cts-v 6 piston calipers that will be going onto '98-'02 4th gen fbody spindles. I already have all these parts.

The ZL1 rotor won't fit onto a 4th gen's larger hub so the hat's opening has to be enlarged a few mm to fit. We are using a cnc machine here at work to compare the OEM rotor's hub opening to the ZL1 and then its going to do the work. I separated the hat from the outer ring for the cnc process so now I need the torque spec to properly get them back together.

Also, wanting to know if there are just the outer brake disks available so I'm not machining each set of new rotors I buy.

But if it comes down to it, I can just get replacement rotors and swap the fresh hardware and outer rotor disks onto the fitted hats.

As for the rest of the car, I pulled its LT1 & 4L60 in favor of an LS9 supercharged 6.2. Haven't decided on trans yet- either a paddle shifted (very built) 6L80 or a T56 with the S1 sequential shifter.

thanks again and any more info & recommendations anyone has is very much appreciated!

John
