Mods, Mods, Mods...
By May of 2013, The Shark was in full makeover mode. One thing after another to set it apart from the rest. Although I can't find any pics, I think it was around this time that I installed the catch can. Easy mod and worth the money from what I know. Moving on... The next thing I had my eye on were Splash Guards. Or as I call them, "The Poor Man's Ground Effects". I liked the look that it gave the Camaro. It made it stand out just a little bit more, and I loved how the ass end looked with them. At this time, I also made another risky decision and went with the muffler delete. Definitely won't forget the first time I started it up after that. AMAZING!!!

More Black with a Dash of Red
So many changes happened between April and August of 2013, that its hard for me to even remember what mod happened next. After going through dozens of photos, I've narrowed it down a bit. This is when The Shark started getting some serious color added. It started with some black hood spears that Tony helped me out with. When I got home, I pinstriped them red to make them a little more unique and different. I loved how the red and black looked together, which may have been the drive behind adding more red later on. With the hood spears on, I felt that I should tie the back end in somehow. So, I added the rear blackout panel (3-piece) and guess what? I pinstriped that red, too! The black and red really came together on the white canvas, and I ran with it. It was around this time that I was rolling around with another favorite mod: The ACS T5 Splitter. By far one of my favorites, mainly because it gives the front end a whole new look.

The Secret Mods
From September to December of 2013, The Shark had some mods that were kept secret for awhile. I wanted to reveal it when they were all complete. The only teaser I recall was revealing that the T5 Splitter was now red. Definitely got mixed reviews on that decision, and still do. But at the end of the day, its different and it stands out. And its what I want. I'll admit I've thought about going back to black once or twice, but it still remains red.
I decided that the red splitter looked great with the red pinstripe on the body and wheels that Tony did for me, but that something was missing. I then decided to go with the red body accent stripe on the lower door. I had the spoiler painted red to match it all, but after some time, I started to dislike it more and more. I removed the spoiler completely and realized that I really like the look of the Camaro without one. So for the time being, that's how The Shark will be. Next, I had some help from another club member named James. I had my eye on the rear body side vents for some time, and when I saw them on his car, I was sold. He also helped me put them on. Again, one of my favorite mods by far because of the look they give and how uncommon they are. Finally, I finished the look with the window covers. I figured, those tiny windows are useless anyway, lets cover them up! Anyway, here's some photos from when it all came together in December of 2013. |

My Favorite Photos of The Shark
Well, I finally put together a build thread. Took me 2 years, but I'd say it was worth it. The Shark sure has come a long way. A lot has happened in the 23,000 miles that I've put on it. Some great things happened at the end of 2013 and beginning of 2014. The Chevrolet Camaro Facebook page featured The Shark as "Fan Power" which I thought was amazing. On top of that, The Shark got a full page in the most recent issue of AFX Magazine. Hopefully these two great accomplishments will open more doors for The Shark in the future. As for now, let me leave you with some of my favorite photos!
Enjoy! |
