Hill Assist

Does anyone know if there is a way to disable the hill assist start or change the angle it kicks in?

Search the ZL1 forums as I know we've talked about this before..

I just pull up on the e-brake until I hear one click...release when you pull away.

Some have swapped out the gyro circuit thingy that controls this as well to disable Hill Assist.

One of the very few things I dislike about my ZL1... I think I might have stalled out 3 times since I've owned it, all of them were because of Hill Assist. I don't mind it being there, just wish there was something in the menus on the car to shut it off.

Only way to totally disable is to replace the yaw sensor with one from an auto or any pre-2013 (they're the same p/n). Requires center console removal.

Give it time and you both will adapt. I live in the hills.

Just release your foot early off the brake pedal and count two seconds and it releases. I also give the car a little throttle to pop it off as it will release. It seems to have an adaptive learning curve on how you drive the car. It was a pain in the ass at first!

Where do you live? From your avatar pic it looks like Big Bear/Crestline area...

Down further south, close to Mt San Antonio (Mt Baldy). Just had the Amgen Tour of California pass through. I drive for about 20 mins up GMR and I get to look at this!

What a beautiful view. Looks like a fun road to do some spirited driving. Do I see slotted rotors? Who makes them?

Me too on the LOVE hill assist. Awesome on a manual to have no rolling backwards at all (have driven a manual for decades so am fine without). Give a little more gas from stop on a hill than you normally would. Smooth as a babies behind.
