Wow,

I'm not an audio guy but I can appreciate this...

How much did that dynamat stuff cost by the foot and how much did you end up using?

It must sound really nice in there.

I used about 250 sq ft... cost me roughly $300... the ensolite was a little more pricey - 15 sq yards (135 sq ft) was about the same price ($300)

Do you find that the dynamite makes a huge difference in keeping your car quieter, or not too much? Talking about road noise (aka without that badass system going) inside the cabin. I'm throwing in a JL amp, sub, and speakers next weekend and want to know if its worth the money and hassle.

geeezz man, is that 10" or 12" sub? isn't gonna make ur car like poppin all the time. i'm pretty satisfied with the stock one, just set to more bass on my ipod EQ. lol.

The dynamat (fatmat) is more for sound deadening, it stops the car from rattling... The ensolite that went over the fatmat is a closed cell foam which is more of like a sound proofing.. It made a huge difference in my case since I have long tubes, no cats, xpipe and muffler delete... My car is loud! The combo of the fatmat and ensolite definitely made the cabin quieter...with the radio off I can now enjoy a normal conversation with a passenger, before you would have to talk over the exhaust noise...

I'm sure your situation isn't as drastic as mine so you probably don't ned as much as I used.. Check out raamaudio and talk to rick.. Great guy, very knowledge.. He'll help point you in the right direction

You'd be surprised what a difference a proper sub makes. It goes a LOT lower, and more cleanly, than just turning up the bass on a smaller speaker. Especially if you take the bass a sub is doing away from the main speakers, bass notes (kick drums & tympanis; bass guitar, stand up bass, other large strings; low piano and keyboard notes; etc) sound much cleaner and more detailed. Turning up the bass gives a boomy feel, and your speakers bottom out at a lower overall volume.
