I think in the situation that GM is in, they will keep pushing the v-6 & SS models. Maybe in the future they will get back lucrative & kick out a z-28. Hell, I'm surprised that they still came out with the zr-1.

If the Z/28 has moved this far ahead I would imagine we will see a very limited production in the next few years.

love the grill, thought i would hate this design but wow, it has really grown on me.
We know there is a life size model somewhere at GM as it was supposedly reported, or was it just the design like this one, apart from all the discussion on the design, what about the engine?! i wonder if they are stuffing the LS7, LS9 or whatever. 550 horse sounds like music to my ears |

I don't know exactly why Chevy has been beating around the bush and hasn't come out and said anything about THIS Z28. I remember looking through this book and seeing these photos and thinking, "did someone really get away with publishing these things?" Naturally I whipped out my phone and snapped these pics a little over a month ago and had to get home and post them up here:
http://www.camaroz28.com/forums/show...0&postcount=34 The people in the bookstore didn't look happy about that at the time, but it was for a good cause. The only thing I can come up with is that Chevy is being quiet about this for several reasons. One being they don't want to the competition to know that it is just an SS with a certain LSX dropped in...its obviously more than that. Anyone can take any LSX and drop it in....a few have already. The other reason may be that the money truly isn't there for further development. Because of this, they don't want people banging on the doors saying to build it now! Those people will be disappointed if they really can not build it for good reasons, and that would just look bad on Chevrolet. Scott Settlemire was quoted in a book, regarding the camaro concept, saying, "We had started work on a Camaro a couple of times, unofficially, but got caught each time." Lets hope they keep that up. Anyway, im glad you guys enjoyed the pics, and I hope they did show more insight that the Z28 does (allegedly) exist. Last edited by ChevyCobb; 06-22-2009 at 04:40 PM. |

If they were to announce today that the Z/28 was coming out fall of next year anyone looking to buy an SS today would probably wait. The GM think tank knows that when it does come out a lot of people who already bought the SS will trade it in on the Z/28, effectivly selling 2 cars instead of one. The gentlemen have a job to do and thats not making us happy, it's selling cars to get the company out of a big whole. |

Sorry if this was answered already, but how do we know this is a recent picture? Couldn't this picture be from last year when the Z/28 was still being considered?
