She wants to really get good and comfortable with what she is used to driving, before she moves to a ZL1. I get that, as she is a little intimidated by the new ZL1's power and handling. I'm good with that, wanting to do it at her own pace. At the rate she is truly improving, may be getting that ZL1 next year. I have to honestly say, this mild, reserved lady is a beast on a track. She does not hold back at all and pushes the car as much as she can. Even got to enjoy a few "off track" excursions this last time. I don't get mad or upset at her, I tell her that if she ain't making mistakes, she not trying hard enough. She is truly beating the snot out of the car, and the car keeps coming back for more. It does have quit the amount of upgrades on it, even the instructor is truly impressed what the car is doing on the track. I am there supporting her %100 and she is having the time of her life. Happy Wife, Happy Life... those are old words, but true. When we leave the track, I'm not sure who is smiling more, me or her. Me because of her accomplishments and how well the car is doing on the track, or her because she keeps improving her times, and getting better, all while having a blast in the car, along with improving her driving abilities.
Little bragging rights on her this last time for passing a Mustang 350 and a C5 vette. And every time that supercharger whine kicks in, I'm grinning ear to ear and feeling sorry for the guy she just pulled away from. I know that goes true for Racergirl too, she loves to push that car as hard as she can. I have a lot of respect for these women and the hard work they put into improving their skills. Oh I know it is. I know we love to pick with each other and enjoying the jabs back and forth. |

Here is an example that happened this last time at the track. For the past year, I was asking her that if she is going to be doing a lot of HPDE, we should put some 6 piston calipers on the front. It will help her with braking later and harder and not worry about over heating them. I brought it up again this past May. Her: Not, I don't think that is necessary. I am fine with it like it is. That went on for a couple weeks, and I gave up. Fast forward 3 months. Instructor: Well, you could probably improve your times with upgraded brakes. Ever thought of installing 6 piston calipers. Her: I think that's a great idea, Hank what do you think. Me: wtf? |
