Header dumps !!!

Anyone running header dumps? Im wanting to put some on my Camaro, its cammed, bolt ons, yada yada just looking for feedback on anyone thats run them any issues it may cause other then noise or tickets im a rebel lol. A little background so you don't all think im completly crazy the car is a weekend warrior goes out on nice days for cruises track time car shows the occasional road trip etc not a daily anyhow i had my exhaust come apart at the Hpipe from launchs at the track and or loose clamps, it sounded amazing!! like nascar thunder and freedom! I drove it like that for a few days till i got around to fixing it cause even tho it sounded good the exhaust was hanging... so i figured later on, regrettabley to straight pipe it which although dosnt sound bad its not the same it drones and my corsas sounded better and now theyre all cut up from the hack exhaust shop. On one of Guitarmagedons videos it showed the underside of the freedom rocket and hes got a set up pretty much exactly how im wanting to go wondering if ill have to retune for the (more) opened up exhaust

Just get cutouts. Running open headers like this will get you ticketed, sooner rather than later.

Thanks for the pics,
I've been day dreaming about doing something similar on our 2010.
Thinking about a custom set up dumping the headers out under the side behind the doors. Thinking if I welded up some adapters to go from round to long narrow rectangular tips that would exit behind the doors there would be enough ground clearance. It would open up the entire area around the drive shaft and rear end so easier to work on. Would certainly be loud.
I would like to keep may cats and secondary O2 sensors.
One thing about doing something like in your pics, it would be easy enough to change back out if I decide its too loud.
You would for sure need to re tune if you lose the secondary sensors.
One other thing, I've read about there being air bag sensors in the lower B pillar area and they can be tripped by exiting the exhaust in that location. So probably a good idea to disable the side door air bags.

BTW, for anyone who has done this, what did you do with your rear diffuser?

I have NOWEEDS and I love them. You don’t have to worry about the side airbags. There was one incident but that was an exceptional situation on a very powerful and stripped down car. My car is exceptionally powerful and my airbags have never tripped. You’ll 💕 these diverters!

If he’s in the mood to pay for tickets, I could rack a couple up quick for him to pay!

OP, get on Facebook and ask Nick about what he did to get these dumps. Either that or google complete street performance and get in touch with them via their webpage. Maybe they will make you a set.

Heck yea! Speeding through school zones, driving over curbs, burning rubber in front of the ambulance entrance at a hospital. It's all good! Let me hear that rebel yell!

I'm with the OP, if its too loud your too old!
Maybe I'm just blessed to live in MI but cops up here are pretty cool about such things. The Woodward Dream Cruise the cops could have a hey day writing tickets if they wanted to.
Only time I worry is when I go to Ohio
I think most of the time when cops pull you over for things like this its an excuse the cops are using to check you out and make sure your sober, all legal, no warrants, etc...

I'm all for a good sounding exhaust (age 37). You can see the list of mods in my sig. Hell, with the headers and cam alone, my car is enough to rattle your teeth loose. There is a limit; however, and I believe I'm right on the cusp of it. Running open headers is just asking for unwanted attention. If you relish in that sort thing...by all means, go for it.

I agree. I got pulled over last week by a Florida State Trooper.
He said I ran a red light on a right turn, which I did not. But he claims the main reason that he pulled me over is that my exhaust is too loud.

He said a modified or 'Non-stock' exhaust in Florida is illegal. I am running long tubes w/cat delete, X-pipe and Flowmaster Outlaws. It's loud, but its not open header loud. I didn't try and argue with him, as I am smarter than that, and just yes sir'd the hell out of him.

What I find ridiculous is that in Florida, there is ALWAYS someone louder than you are. It is like the wild west when it comes to exhaust and car safety down here. It rarely gets enforced.

The strangest part about all of this is that he gave me a written warning for both offenses. That's right...A State Trooper gave me a warning. I realize just how lucky I was, believe me. He told me that it was because I was so polite, had no recent traffic offenses, and didn't try and argue with him. If I had really run a red light, there is no damn way a Trooper is going to give you a warning, IMO. I suppose he used that as justification to pull me over.

He was most concerned about the exhaust and told me loud exhausts are his 'Pet Peeve'. I was fully expecting a fix-ticket, but nope. Just a warning. Pretty sure the whole thing was just to see if I was all legit legally. Either way, he was a fairly cool cop and never came across as dickish or power hungry. The guy could not have been over 25-26 years old.

1. Yes, it is just that, an opinion...purely subjective.

2. You gotta pay to play. If you want to be loud and; therefore, get yanked and ticketed, that's on you. I fully understand my car is beyond loud. If I'd ever get pulled over, I did it to myself.
