from 4th Gen to 5th Gen-My Reason - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Ok, folks as many of you know I have been a 4th gen luver for many years 1994 to be eaxct. Previous rides: 94 Firebird Form, 2000z28, 2000SS enjoyed them all.

Well time has come for me to turn in my 4th gen wings, Sold my mint 2000 SS with 31k on it for a 2010 2ss RS. Why you ask....well here goes.

I think the 4th gen is an awesome performer and honestly doesn't give anything up to the f5. What I think the f5 does does than the 4th gen does not do is Saftey and Ride Quality whilst maintaing the preformance. I have children and wish to take them with me in my SS , I feel i am irresponsible doing that in the 2000 SS with a ttop roof and the BIG GLASS HATCHBACK. The 4th gen I read somewhere was the NHST leading car in fatalities for many of the years it was produced. With the 4000lbs of the 5th gen she is strong, she has modern saftey standards and far more airbags. The IRS offers more control on bumpies and ZETA is a tank, you all know that.

I got a good price on my sale and just could not see using a 10 year car as my daily driver. So I am saying goodbye tommorow to my 4th Gen SS, but 48 hours after that ...well Black on Black 2010 2ss RS comes to town.

Congrats I here ya I still own both of my 4th Gen's but they have been in the garage since I picked up my 2010 back in October

I would have loved to keep both but..there can be only one car for me.

As much as I loved my 4th gen, my 5th is so much better IMO.

I know it was tough giving up your 4th gen but you made a good call. By the way, your 2000 Camaro is a NICE ride!

You will not be disappointed. My CETA is my garage baby, but the 5th is superior in everyway. Congrats.

Couldn't part with mine, been with me since June 93. She getting the heads re done now plus a few tweaks to give her a new look on life as my daily driver.
