I only drove it about 2 Miles and did not get above 40 MPH, I am taking it for an alignment Friday, the weather hasn't be cooperating . I have read stories about pinion nuts coming loose, I am hoping that doesn't happen as I can't even see the nut when everything is back together.

No Noise that I have heard yet.

I am still liking these gears, I do think that if I had to do it all over again I would consider the 4.10, But I am happy with these and I think these may be a better fit then the 4.10 as I start to build more power.

Just an Update. I drained the Rear Fluid after 500 Miles, The fluid was really dark and both the fill and drain had sludge on them but no metal that i could see or feel, I refilled with Torco 80/90. The rear still feels smooth and no sounds that I can hear. I think I will run it another 1,000 Miles then flush it again. I was not expecting to see as much sludge type material as I did since there are no clutch plates.

Yeah I think I am good Only thing That is on my mind is I did not loctite pinion nut and I meant to, I did stake it and I know not everyone does but it is a step that I don't see a reason not to but I didn't want to pull it apart since everything was set.

By chance would you have the part number for the True Trac and did you have to use a special bearing kit? Also please, what gears/brand did you go with. Thank you

Detroit Locker 912A686 - Eaton Detroit Truetrac

Ratech install kit, Bearings and shims and what not 381K Kit
The 3.91 Gears are from GM abut I don't have part number handy just need the Gears.
Toroco 80-90 fluid is what I run as the you are not supposed to run Syn fluid with TrueTrac.

I did not use that kit but I did use those gears, I had zero issue with mounting the GM ring gear to the TrueTrac and I haven't heard of anyone having an issue.

Thats good to hear. I know early on the rings were to tight for the TruTrac. I just wanted to confirm that was not still the case.

Thank You,

Jason
