Anybody try this flexible neon tube for mood lighting?

It seems like this stuff would be great for interior mood lighting. Anyone try it?

Hmm this really made me curious. I'm tempted to take a crack at it as its only 6 bucks.

It has a 12 volt option so it's ready to go. Wonder if it's skinny enough to be pushed under the dash panel without removing it?

No I doubt it. I've removed those panels before (to vinyl wrap dash and door trim) there isn't much space in between. It's actually super easy to remove you should give it a shot. Hope that is what you're referring to.

EL Wire seems to be a great option for this kind of stuff. I've used it in skydiving applications, but the only things I caution against are UV degradation and the fact that they will lose some of their luminance over time.

But at the price, what could it hurt!?

Saw something similar at SEMA this year and am tempted to try it. If you do, please let us know how it looks & post some pictures.

Could it work? Absolutely. Will the cheap china crap break on you within a month? More than likely. I'd get it and try it out, experiment and find something that you dig, but ultimately replace it with a higher quality version afterwards

That's part of what always kept me from doing mods like this. I'm worried it will look awesome for a month, then if I can't find a quality replacement, I'm stuck with an altered vehicle.

I'm going to use the larger LED tubes that are intended for headlights and DRL's.
Got some that are blue, but if you feed power to another wire, the blue turns off and it lights up white. I'll have it blue with my ABL and white with the dome light.
It's larger diameter than the glow wire and flexible.

In an under dash application zip ties could be your best friend..
Flexible tubing, route it where you want it and zip tie it in place.
It shouldn't get hot, and as long as its invisible without inverting yourself in the footwell it should be able to be installed.
Then its just a matter of connecting the wiring to meet YOUR application.
I'd like it to come on with my blue LED dome light

Are you going to stretch the Camaro and add a wet bar too?

All I was finding was the cheap ones. Got a link to better quality?
