Hey Robert! We got disconnected the other night on the phone, It was good talking to you, thanks again for all your help getting everything all sorted out for me. I mentioned your motor to a buddy of mine that owns a shop, he thinks he might have a customer that would be interested in buying it. Not sure it it would be cost effective once shipping gets added, I told him it was the best of the best though, I need a parts list on it if you get some time.

On a different subject, anyone ever get ahold of Pete? I'd like to get some lowering springs & a few of his parts for my Z, my SS had Pedders everything on it from front to rear, I love his products!

ERL only builds a couple of these each year... But it'll be a beast...

42X cubic inches...Nodular iron cylinders like I currently have, Six bolt, custom crank, shorter stroke (3.950 if I remember correctly, bigger journals... custom offset X beam rods, custom pistons... Partially filled block... For rigidity... Shouldn't have cooling problems... But we'll deal with that if it occurs...

There are two choices of heads... MAST and All Pro... Corey and I are pretty sure we are going All Pro... With Jezel valve train components... and a custom spec cam to fit our needs... 8000 rpm's...

We will run the March Mile with my current motor unless someone steps up and has to have it... Then I'll shoot for October... Maybe drive in March for another shop....That'll be fun if it happens... 1100-1200 AWHP GTR... Yeah baby....

There is also the Michigan, Ohio and Mojave Miles later in the summer... Head West and hang with Josh, or head North and Hang with Kyle... Both great times...
I'm not 2nd guessing you at all, I just want to pick your brain. I know your making really big power right now with your ERL motor. Why not just go with an LSX block this time? I'm guessing the LSX is a lot less money, maybe I'm wrong. I know both blocks are pretty much bomb proof, I know with the ERL you get to keep an aluminum block & save a few pounds. How much weight do you really save though? I'm curious ahout the weight difference after they add their iron sleeves, superdeck system, the gussets & all the welding they do. Obviously they make an awesome product, you & other people I've read about are making stupid power with their motors. I hope I didn't come off as 2nd guessing your plan, I know you guys know what your doing, like I said I'm just curious about those questions.

All is well except for not having any internet connection worth a crap... I haven't even had a place to set up shop since I got on here 5 days ago... Today I mentioned quite loudly that the stack was not going to hit the water without my approval... and that got the ball rolling somewhat...

Internet is still so slow I can't hook up to my company server and download som information I need...

I list what I can, but I don't know all the specific parts, though I can get most of them. Ill get ahold of Corey...
Yes, I drove into no mans land and lost phone signal....

I haven't heard anything from Pete, which is so very not like him....

I'll take second guessing...

As for the motor, I personally feel like the ERL block with the ductile/nodular iron sleeves are stronger than the LSX blocks... The sleeves are machined and therefore perfectly concentric if that is the proper term... There is no worry about the cylinders from core shift during manufacturing...

The weight is not a big concern, as my car weighs in at 4600 with me in it... Whats another 100 lbs...

I know it will cost abit more but I like the reassurances I've recieved from ERL about this motor...

Again, there is nothing wrong with my current motor other than going lean when we lost boost reference and spike the boost... We were fine at 24 lbs, but when it shot to 30... well that's another story... I did not have the fuel supply capacity for another 200 or so HP.... I do now....

I'll get a complete list of parts and get that to you as soon as possible...

Ok, so an official decision has been made...

I will not be running the Mile in March...

Finances being what they are, and mostly being fair to my wife, we are going to work on finishing stuff on the car, make sure everything works as it should, and I will spend some enjoyable time driving it...

We have a ton of stuff to do to the car, and not enough time to plan and execute it...

We want to work with ProEFI and get everything their system is capable of working.. I need to get some other wheels and tires for the rear, and I need to catch up on some othe things as well...

So... October it is... Unless I go to California or elsewhere for a race late summer or early fall... But for now... we will work on driving the car, and relaxing...

I want to extend a big thanks to all who have supported me and the car in this effort to this point....

You guys make it all so much more worthwhile...

If my schedule allows for me to be there, I'll have it there, but not racing...

Being able to walk out in the garage and see it, being able to start her up and drive somewhere for lunch, going to San Antonio on Friday nights to meet with Chris and Glen and Matt, Doug and a few others...

Not having to drive a one ton dually somewhere to see her sitting on a lift waiting on parts... etc....

This is nothing whatsoever about the shop, it's just not getting to drive her is killing me... We will plan for the October run...

I sent Corey a message about this and he greed 100%... It'll give us time to get everything right....

I totally agree with you Robert. I take my car & my wife to dinner just about every Friday or Saturday. I'm driving it on the same tires that went over 200 mph at The Mile. My goal with this car was to go over 200 in a standing mile, be able to drive it anywhere at anytime, still be a ZL1 ready to tear up a road course & run some low 9 second passes in the 1/4 mile. 3 of those goals I've already accomplished, the 1/4 mile part I should have done within the next month. I took it to the drag strip 2 weeks ago, my mph is already more than what I'll need, I just have to get the boost controller & traction all dialed in to where I need it. Your car has the same potential as mine, your standing Mile mph will be higher than me because you have more power than I do & your rear gear is better setup than mine. I know you have the 5th gen record in The Texas Mile as a goal also, its right there, we've all seen your last run, you were gonna crush that record on boost only, I imagine that's eating at you knowing you had it. I'm debating changing my rear gearing to get more mph in the standing Mile events but I love everything about the car right now, it drives so nice I don't wanna mess anything up. I say get it all worked out to last the long haul & drive that beauty, enjoy it, that's what its all about.

Coming from you Josh, that means a lot...

I know I had the record, now just get the car right and go do it officially...

And enjoy the car while managing it...
