Advice picking up the camaro with the rain

I am supposed to be trading in my truck for a 2010 Camaro 2SS/RS today. It is raining quite a bit in NJ already today.

This car will be my DD and I will be picking up a second set of rims/tires for the winter or possibly swap for some all terrains but leaning towards the the designated winter tires for Dec - March...did enough reading on that one.

My last few cars have been a 05 Dodge Ram, then 2007 Jeep, then an Evo VIII, then a 2008 Dodge Ram, and now a 2010 Dodge Ram.

Would you guys advise waiting on picking this up if the rain is steady and heavy from time to time? The dealership is about a hour from me. Figured it is best to ask what you guys think of the stock pirelli's in the rain.

thank you

you're hitting the nail on the head here. 31 years old and I am concerned about a RWD vehicle....and probably the visibility creeped me a bit when I test drove it. Probably doesn't help that my cousin has a 2011 mustang gt and tells me that his is horrendous in the rain and can't be a daily driver and that my tires are gonna cause issues.........

You will be fine....been caught in hard rain with mine several times. Infact, it was raining quite hard when I picked her up from the dealership in May.

The P-Zeros are fine in the rain when they still have enough tread on them. It's the freezing temps that you'll need to worry about eventually.

Traction control is your friend, you'll be fine. I'm going to get lunch in my SS.

I drove 45 miles in the pouring rain last Sunday @68mph to a car show. Wiped her off when I got there and won first place in my class!
Welcome to perma-grin!

Well you might not want to turnoff traction control, rev it to 4500 RPM and dump the clutch!

Drove mine for about two hour in hard rain over the weekend. On cruise control on the interstate going 70+ and had no issues. You will be fine. Be careful and enjoy the ride.

The Pirellis are pretty good in the rain, its the snow that I'd worry about!

In that case, just take it easy and you'll be fine. Save the fun driving for a dry day. My P-Zeros started to lose a bit of traction at around 15k miles when it was wet but were fine as long as I wasn't messing around.
