On one-way streets, vehicles may be parked parallel to and not more than 12 inches from the right or left curb. Local ordinances permit angle parking in some jurisdictions.
Stopping, Parking or Standing Prohibited
No person shall stop, park or stand a vehicle in any of the following places, except when necessary to avoid conflict with other traffic, or in compliance with the directions of a law enforcement officer or traffic control device:
1. On a sidewalk (except a bicycle)
2. In front of a public or private driveway
3. Within an intersection
4. Within 10 feet of a fire hydrant
5. On a crosswalk
6. Within 20 feet of a crosswalk or intersection
7. Within 30 feet of a flashing beacon, stop sign or traffic-control signal
8. Between a safety zone and the adjacent curb or within 30 feet of points
on the curb immediately opposite the ends of a safety zone, unless the
traffic authority indicates a different length by signs or markings
9. Within 50 feet of the nearest rail of a railroad crossing

10. Beside or opposite a street excavation or obstruction when such parking

would obstruct traffic
11. Alongside a vehicle stopped or parked at the edge or curb of a street
12. On a highway bridge or within a highway tunnel
13. At any place where signs prohibit parking
14. Within one foot of another parked vehicle
15. On a roadway portion of a freeway, expressway or thruway"

It seems that according to Ohio Law there is no jackass way to park that is illegal OTHER THAN PARKING WITHIN 1 FOOT OF ANOTHER PARKED VEHICLE.

I can't believe it either actually but the Scion could have been cited for this... Obviously this is 100% up to the officer but according to the law in Ohio the scion was the one that should receive an infraction.
Please note that this is for parking on public streets only. Most lots where you have parking stalls are on private lots where none of these laws apply. It is usually up to the owner of the lot to tow anyone away, and parking close to someone in any private lot is NOT illegal in any way. Damaging another vehicle is still property damage, though...

If you park like that, and the car owner complained to the owner of the lot to have your car towed, he could , Just as he could have someone towed for parking in two spots.

Exactly, which is why I said "(depending on where you are parked)."

However, the better alternative to solve this little issue is to purchase a set of four hydraulic wheel dollies and leave them in the back of your car. Yes, it may be a pricey investment, but they are incredibly useful to have for normal situations. And in this unusual situation, they could be particularly priceless.

Simply move the car to the desired location and go about your business. No property damage done. Mission accomplished.

Plus, if you have the pleasure of being able to see the parking spot from your place of residence (or employment) it can amount to a few chuckles when the owner arrives back at their vehicle to see that their car has magically moved itself to a proper parking alignment, albeit ten spaces away next to the dumpster.

Now this is why you try to keep an old beater car around. Not only is it perfect for winter, but when you don't have to care about door dings, just think of all the fun little things you can do.

Now this could of been an isolated incident and both people know eachother type of thing. But if you do something like this, I would be fully prepared for the consequences. Who knows some 6'4" 300 lb guy comes out and beats the living daylights out of you whos the winner in that one?

What I am saying is leave people alone, you never know you are going to piss off on when they are having a "BAD DAY."

"bad day" = a$$ whooped, stabbed, shot, who knows maybe they are a damn good lawyer and will just sue you for everything you have.

Just putting that out there
Ahhh, the ol' "I was an asshole first so people that call me on it are BIGGER assholes" routine.... If you let people like this get away with crap all the time, they're just going to keep doing it, thinking the world evolves around them. Man up and take a stand once in a while (note that taking a stand does not = starting a physical fight, the example shown is a great one).

The bigger person would have just let them be and not parked next to them.

Not if this is going on day after day. Sorry, but sometimes you need to be called on parking like a douchebag, and this was the perfect way to do it.

I keep saying...if you park in two spots, you risk a keying or worse. It's not right, but why even tempt fate like that? The above way is a harmless (but annoying) way of getting the point across. And you notice it changed the douchebag behavior.
