The GTR has a V6 that makes 480+hp. its not impossible.

A tick over 13.0 sec. and you're through the quarter-mile. It's a rush, of course, but not overly dramatic. Try the same thing with this pair's predecessors of 1970 or so and you'll find yourself in a bit of a wrestling match. Ain't progress wonderful? Maybe yes, and maybe sometimes it's fun to wrestle."

These engines would be going into the newest body style Mustangs, correct? This isn't about some 2015 MY or anything...

Not at all. Ford will never win a hp war with gm, mainly because of the reason that there are 3 more motors that are not going ( or haven't ) been put in the camaro, which are alot more powerful then the regular LS3 or L99. ( LS7, LSA, LS9 ). 505, 556, 638. But hey, the camaro deserves a little competition! oh yeah almost forgot, the cts-v is priced in the low 60's and is a cadillac. that tell you anything about how much a camaro that would match the gt500's (45-$60,000) performance would cost? I'm looking forward to this interesting development. It looks like Ford doesn't want to give the top spot to the Camaro after all. As I've said many times, competition benefits all of us no matter what your brand preference is. Quote:

You see, comparing a car that starts at 43 grand with one that starts at around 31 makes no sense to me. GM doesn't have the money right now. That doesn't mean they aren't capable. its kind of like kick boxing against a guy with a peg leg that's missing his arm and is in a wheelchair. |

I think you guys are forgeting that the aftermarket is going to jump all over the Ecoboost in a similar fashion like the Supra!! Don't be surprised when 600hp TT Mustangs start showing up on the street and the track. It is extremely easy to get waaaaaaay more Hp and Tq by simply turning up the boost.

I still don't understand why you guys are demanding a Z28. I never said anything about a Z28. What I said was that GM can still add more horsepower to the current LS3, in order to compete with the 2011 Mustang. It would be a smarter idea seeing the economic status they are in.

They could but you have to think. The things they would remove in order to take off weight would be things that pertain to safety regulations.
