Price seems right but if the guy was rude to your wife, especially since you are serving, tell him to take a hike. Exercise your right as a consumer to spend your hard earned money somewhere else( or shame them into a better deal). Good luck and be safe.

A 1SS stick shift with RS package and Sunroof and no other options comes out to $32,977 with the employee discount. USAA discount brings down that price to $32,227 before tax, tag and title. I do not know where you live or your tax rate but a 6-7% sales tax brings it up to around $34,500-$35,000 out the door.

Personally I would walk and go somewhere else just for the rudeness.

Can someone clarify for me why this is a good deal. Msrp on the car is $33,895. (Lots of dealers are charging less than msrp now) They are charging $34,500 after a bunch of discounts? Is the $34,500 before or after GMS? How much should tax, title and license be? Why is the dealer charging an additional $895 destination fee? Where's this great deal? Just askin.....

The price quoted is including tax which normally runs $2,000-$2,500 so he is actually paying about $2,000 below MSRP.

We do not know his tax rate and as such we do not know if the dealer is actually charging an additional $895 destination fee or merely informing his wife that the price includes the destination fee.

There are simply too many unknowns atm to know if it is a good deal or not.

first of all, thank you for your service

Just confirming what Mr_Draco said above, with GM Supplier discount (which I think is about the same as employee) the MSRP comes out to $32,977 including the $850 delivery fee (and RS and Sunroof but no other options)

USAA discount = -750
guessing 5% sales tax = $1,610
title, registration is about $125 her in Taxachusetts (that's what the registry charges, no additional dealer "paperwork" fee)

that all nets out to $33,963

it could be a higher tax rate that brings it up to $34,500, or they might be charging one of those bogus "paperwork fees"

so the price isn't bad, but you can probably find another dealer who will give the same or better price and also treat your wife with the respect she deserves

Hey man, as a fellow deployed soldier I know the headache you've got. I never really looked into a 1SS but I just ordered my 2SS/RS (no sun roof) M6 for 35897 with tax title license and all. Probably a long shot, but if you're anywhere near North Dakota I have a few dealers that are pretty good with their pricing. Good luck. and message me if you need the dealer info.

Price actually sounds about right.

What I would be concerned about is the "rude" part.

How will they take care of you after you buy the car? What about warranty problems should any arise?

This is why I was extremely careful about which dealer I ended up buying from. There are even some pretty good ones on here. BeckyD and CamaroScotty come to mind.

If any dealer with whom I attempted to buy from, treated my wife rude (or me even), I would walk out the door. In today's market there is no excuse for that kind of behavior.

Forgive my rant, but that is a serious issue to me.

Looks to me like they're about $600 high.

What state will the car be registered in?

And thank you for your service.

he should knock off $1000.00 plus your $750.00 discount.

Yes they are charging you more than they should. Here is my suggestion. If you're near Doha, Kuwait I would suggest going to AAFES and seeing if they still have the GM booth/shop there. I know when I was deployed you could order the exact car you wanted and it would be waiting for you at the dealership of your choice upon return from deployment. I know there are a few bennies that go with this, but since it's been over 7 years for me since I was in the Middle East, this may not be provided anymore.

Good luck, and if anything, go to a different dealership that isn't going to look at you as $$$ but as a soldier that deserves the respect you earned for doing your part for the country.

HOOAH!!!

2-The dealership charges a $895 destination fee that is non-negoitable.
3- The dealership stated they will give me a $750 USAA member discount.
4- The RS package is $1,200 and the Sunroof is $900.
5- The total price after Tax, title and license fees is around $34,500.

I am inquiring to find out if this is a good deal or not. I don't want to spend a year in Iraq and lose my savings to the dealership. The dealer stated that I couldn't find a better deal (of course he would say that) and was pretty rude to my spouse. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Michael
You guys are missing the point that he made about tax, title and license fees being included in the price. This price is spot on that he has listed. I went on the GMS site and did the calculations with the $750 USAA discount as well. He is not getting hosed on this. I came within a $100 of his quote.

Yea, our Texas sales tax is brutal on big purchases. But there are lots of dealers in Texas...that rude thing to my wife would for sure send me looking. You and your wife deserve better soldier.
