Talking LS7

Would it be possible to throw a LS9 motor into a 1LT? I was just wondering if people would actually do that. Would they also change the transmission?

Transmission, Brakes, Wheels, Electronics, Suspension, Rear Diff, Gearing, etc. etc.

It's possible, but you'd have to replace more then just the engine.

In a word.. No.

The engine cradle is different between V6 and V8 cars. You could buy a 1SS and swap out the motor for cheaper, otherwise you will be cutting the front subframe up to install the engine (aside from everything else you have to do). Not worth it.

Actually I think a V8 option for the LT would be good. Perhaps the 5.3 liter. Some would disagree but, I think it would be cool.

V6 Engine swap for LS7

i got a 2010 2lt rs camaro and i love it, i just wish i could have the extra horsepower that the v8 had, i got the car as my graduation gift and im happy with it completely. i was wondering if there was a way in the future if i am able to swap out the V6 engine for a more powerful engine like the LS7, any help would be great

Yep.

With enough money you could put a Merlin engine from a P-51 Mustang in it!

You might as well just trade in for a used SS down the road rather than a motor swap, thats OD. If its power you want, why not do some performance mods to satisfy that hunger?

That 3.8Lv6 its not too small a motor, it should respond well to bolt ons.

The car will hold it's value well. Save your pennies and trade in for an SS in a couple of years. Best bang-for-your-buck IMO.

NO, the Rev limiter is not set to 118MPH... and YES, driving in this manner does affect MPG...

Yeah you COULD put in a bigger motor, but it will end up costing you as much as the difference of trading in for an SS
