I have been researching exhaust systems, and I saw a few comparisons between these two, but they were mainly comparing systems without an added intake or they didn't specify.
My biggest concern is drone, I know the SOLO system comes with an adjustable j-pipe to combat the drone, but I hear various opinions on the MRTv2 drone. If the MRTv2 w/CAI has very little to no drone, then that is a big cost factor as I can get both for $859.99. Otherwise I am looking at full price for intake and SOLO exhaust at about $1254.98. |

I run 2 catch cans...

Or, buy both used from C5 and save some bucks. What I would do (if I had to do it again) is wait until Solo has a Black Friday sale, then buy the hi-flow cats only, get some straight pipes welded onto them (maybe some cheap mufflers), and pick up a used black CAI on C5 for less than $300. So maybe $900 (not installed) and demonstrated dyno HP gains (not mythical) and better sound than either of your 2 choices.
I have sound samples in my signature with solo and intake (post #36).

I was going to get the HFC down the road anyways, I didn't think of kind of custom building the system as I am new to this. Thanks for the tip, that would save some money.
Thanks for the vids, I have been trying to find some clips of them with the CAI. I have actually looked at your build in the past, it's where I first saw that Drake shifter, got one myself. Last edited by MAtRiX_757; 06-07-2015 at 06:50 PM. Reason: realized what you meant |

I plan on getting the solo catback system for my car. I already have a CAI intake and the solo high flow cats. I know the mrt v2 axle back is very popular on here and many people have that setup if your worried about the drone get a magnaflow resonated x pipe and they will get rid of the drone with the mrt v2.

Looks like I am going to be getting the SOLO exhaust, I am just sure I will have to do way too much to the MRT to eliminate the drone and it would end up costing me in the long run, also the SOLO is a good price for a cat back system.

Is there any difference between power with a cat-back:CAI intake VS a axle-back:CAI intake?

I'm in the same boat with you op, only I also want to get an Elite catch can. I figure my engine will thank me since I'll be opening up the throttle a lot more once I get my CAI and MRT V2 lol.
