Catch cans for 2017 ZL1

Is one needed for the '17 ZL1, and which one(s) are considered best if so...

The ZL1's LT4 has one from factory that drains back into the oil pan too

I'm not a mechanic by any means, but the vapors that bypass out of the engine have not only oil, but gas and carbon deposits. If the PVC is directed straight back into the oil pan, wouldn't that contaminate the rest of the oil?

A setup like this is common on alot of higher end sports cars like the M3.

What you say is true but it doesnt seem like its enough to really make the oil stop what its suppose to do.

If the oil on the dipstick starts smelling like fuel then you can bet there is contamination going on.

A 'catch can' that drained back into the pan would only be draining the oil itself, not the vapors.

Hmm. When I get my ZL1 in a couple of weeks I'll have to take a look at how the factory catch can is set up. Maybe I can figure out how to put one on my C7 with an E-Force.

The "catch can" that people say the LT1/LT4 have are on the CCV side. The PCV has no oil/air separator.

Mighty Mouse is real popular with 4th gens and this one is probably great too.
