What type of events are you running?
Track days & schools or timed competition?
In the past most normal auto policies would probably cover you "once" for non competitive events. SCCA membership covers you not the car at their events.

Do not count on your regular car insurance to cover you hitting a wall or another car on a racetrack...keep in mind the waiver you sign probably only covers the facilty your racing in, so if the worst happened and you injured someone else on the track, you are likely personally liable for their injuries, and there is no insurance to cover that cheap enough to buy..

I relent readings there is only one underwriter for track insurance which is why they all have the same rates.

Ontrackinsurance.com is pretty good to. They were a little cheaper than Lockton when I have compared the two. I believe they have a liability program now to but I haven't priced it out yet.

What about a timer in your car for personal use like Harrys lap timer?
