Mine has some blue trash in the paint here and there. It's microscopic, at best. Nothing I can do about it since I bought it used, and it's so small, it doesn't bother me. But that does suck that your ZL1 has that. I bet GM will make it right.

It sounds like the OP is done discussing the situation and is looking forward to getting a replacement ZL1.

Please let us know how GM handles it.

Thanks for the info, wasnt aware of that. I may see what they can do. Thanks sir.

Custom 3 stage is around $10K - $12K....but well worth it!
I may opt for the stage 3 option. I can tell you the op is not ocd but concerned. I have a red hot zl1 and am surprised in the level of irregularity and blemishes. I dont think getting a new zl1 will solve the issue. Rather the issue is somewhere in the paint process.

UPDATE !

UPDATE ! 68 days after the first contact with GM, They did a BuyBack (swapped titles) for another 2013 ZL1... my paint was a mess from a combination of factory defects and dealer neglect. So after being persistant and almost 50 phone calls with different levels of GM management they finally delivered the car on Memorial day. They also paid for having my windows re-tinted. I'm happy with the outcome but it was very stressful at times. I wouldnt accept that they wanted to do all that paint work on a brand new car, I also gave them a chance to wet sand and buff the entire car and they couldnt remove the defects.
The new ZL1 was stored inside the entire time at the new dealership(and it shows) which was 25 minutes from me had 12 miles on the clock.
New ride.....

Now that is customer service. I do not blame you one bit for wanting a new car. We work hard to make the money for a new car. That body work would have been on car fax and certainly affected any future value.

You're asking for a new car just because of 9, NINE spots? You're insane. I've only ever seen one car repainted by GM and it was because he had thousands. Note I said repainted, not replaced. If you want a new car you will have to come up with something more serious that just 9 spots.
I guess now youve seen a car replaced for paint. I said replaced not repainted !

Lesson learned for all the naysayers. It never ceases to amaze me at how the keyboards all chime in with their expert analysis on these topics.

I am glad to hear your persistence paid off. Of course, I prefer the Victory Red, but AGM is a close second!
