Well the 6th generation Camaro is supposed to be lighter by every account. I say watch what Cadillac finally comes out with on the next CTS-V and you will have a pretty good guess what the next ZL1 power-plant will be. I think they have enough time to bump power up a little in the camaro just like they did the last time.

So much for weight being the answer to all our ills. The charger is heavier than the challenger yet faster in the 1/4 and top speed. No substitute for HP and Areo.

Weight still plays a critical factor as does gearing in terms of straight line acceleration. The Challenger will still be marginally faster than the Charger around a track. 4550lbs is a lot of weight to throw around.

If the next generation V/ZL1 do receive the 650hp LT4 and weigh 4,000lbs or so, it will be a drivers race in the straights vs the Hellcat twins.

No doubt on a road course about weight. I'm really hoping to see a 650hp, 4,000lb car with any name on it come out of the GM camp. That would be a came changer for sure.

It's going to be interesting to see how GM handles this because I believe that Dodge is making everyone change their game plan.

I don't think it changed anything, hopefully the GT500 was all the kick in the pants they needed.

The game changer is now we get beat by two Dodge products with our ZL1s, and the harder kick in the pants is from a four door sedan. Ouch!

Yeah, that's what sucks about it. Four door sedans are supposed to be people movers and grocery getters not ZL1 killers.

What category? a four door sedan that kills muscle cars or that it's not your average 4 door sedan?

If you include 4 door sedans then why not compare the corvette.
