The only nuisance I've found is that the cup holders are right behind the shifter. Not a huge deal, but I'm reminded of it after rolling through Taco Bueno and getting that medium Coke.

It's called "New V8 fever" combined with "New car fever" and although it will probably never go away, the temperature will go down a bit. Compare it to the extra amount of sex new couples have, add to that your new girl is really really hot.

Even when I first picked up my !ls, my mileage sucked ( it had nothing to do with new engine break in). Your on the gas more, feeling out the new power and it's just plain fun. My mileage has increased by 50% just by doing the driver mod. The mileage will never be as good as your V6 but can be much closer if you adjust your driving. Enjoy the new ride !

Mine Is an LS3 completely stock, with 1800 miles on it. I'm getting 22-23 mpg combined city and hwy with even stomping on it a bit. It gets better mpg then my 2004 Supercharged Grand Prix did!

I have a 14' 1SS LS3. In the first ~2000 miles I'm averaging 16 mpg lifetime with mostly driving around town, about 600 miles on the highway. Definitely never got over 20 mpg over the course of a full tank. My driving wasn't exactly conservative the first 500 miles either, especially "learning the new clutch".

Although, I do hope to gain 2-3 mpg over the next 5k miles now that it's broken in a bit. We'll see.

3 tanks of gas in a week.....time to head to the dealership....it should be under warranty for using gas when you drive a lot.

Geez, reading threads like these make me happy I was able to shake the SS bug and not upgrade. Maybe I still will after I pay mine off and can pay cash for a used SS. But while I'm still making payments? No way!

28 mpg in the city? No possible way, these things chug fuel when accelerating but only sip fuel when cruising. I'm lucky to get 18 mpg in the city if I don't drive economically. On the last tank of gas I got 15 mpg, which was 100% city driving. I'm pretty heavy on the foot though. With a lighter foot and some economical driving, 20 mpg may be possible but it's a stretch.
Oh damn......here we go again.....let him have it Home Wrecker....I am too tired from the last thread!

I think you will. My life-time average is 18.2 with 17300 on the clock. It seems to get a high of 24 on the highway with the cruise set at 79, and i do not know the city, just that its 18.2 over its life.

According to my OnStar I'm averaging 16 lifetime. Seems to be a pattern here with the OnStar averages.

Imagine that....very similar cars driven in most likely a very similar way over a long period of time get just about the exact same mileage......oh except for the few that get about 50% more!
