New 2015 Camaro...Rusty Parts???

Ok, I'm feeling a little nervous here with my new car...I purchased this on Black Friday. It had 30 miles on it....a New 2015 Camaro SS 2SS. I pulled the exhaust and the bolts looked extra rusty and corroded, I didnt think too much and installed my new SW Retro exhaust. Yesterday I pulled the front wheel and inner cover to install a Apex scoop and saw other things that were rusty...what do you guys think...the car is from SoCal...should I be worried or am I overreacting. I included some pics so you could see the corrosion and rust.

SoCal inland, shouldn't be like that - SoCal coast? I can see that if it sat on a lot for a while. It has every appearance of a salted road driven car to me.

Out of curiosity I pulled the build on the car (neat ride, and a bit unique). Nothing out of the ordinary on the VIS, looks like it was delivered to Santa Ana and sold there - shouldn't be much salt air or water or am I wrong? Does the dealer have a lot or storage facility closer to the beach? They had it 9 months (initial process on 2/19/15 and dealer pdi on 3/26/15). If it were mine I would get it on a lift, and POR-15 all the black parts, wire wheel and clean all the rust off the bolts and such and coat with something that matches OEM finish. Just my .02

Thanks for doing the research, that's what I thought the history might be too....I'm thinking about doing that. I am going to inquire with them about where they may have stored it. But, Santa Ana is a bit of a ways from the ocean...there are areas with rust on the inside of the frame, that's where my major concerns lie.

There is a reason people try to get California cars......rust free. There is no way that should be that corroded in the one pic. My 2011 doesn't have any rust underneath....not like that anyway.

Not a problem. Maybe they would do, or pay for a Ziebart type treatment on the inside of those rails, but they may tell you to 'pound sand'. If approached right they should be willing to assist. I wouldn't be overly concerned at this point in time, but, definitely get it all tended to one way or another and done right, not just rattle canned. Bitchin' car!!

My 6+ year old '10 SS looks a lot better than that underneath and it's seen several North East Winters.
The history of this car might be very interesting. I would take it back to the selling dealer and see
what they have to say.

It looks like it may have been sitting in a lot that had some standing water up to the axle. My Camaro has a 10/14 build date and I bought it in 8/15. It currently has 850 miles and I never cleaned the chassis yet.

Definitely something going on. My 2010 with 4 years of DD driving, even in Utah winters looked better than that. My 2015 is pristine.
Interestingly enough, as has been pointed out in several current threads, most of what's put down on roads is not salt, but Mag Chloride which is much less damaging.
If your car saw the sea breeze for a few weeks or even god forbid was driven in "real" saltwater, it could cause what you're seeing.

People think that because you live in Cali, your vehicle is going to remain pristine forever, but one little foray into even brackish water can be devastating.

My 2011 doesn't look anything like that. It's been winter stored but still, even with moisture in the air and surface rust which is possible, it doesn't look anywhere as bad as those shots you took.

The third picture looks more than just surface rust.

No rust here! Weird how much rust you got already.
