Hotchkiss Lowering Springs Rear Height Difference - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Hi guys. I just install hotchkiss lowering springs to my 2010 camaro ss. But i have an issue. The front height is equal but rear left is lower almost 1 centimeter against the right side. What can i do?

Have you had the bushings timed/clocked/reset/whatever you want to call it? If the suspension is hanging limp and you tighten up all the nuts and bolts then the bushings will all be under extra stress/torqued when the car is on the ground.

You can either mention this to your alignment tech and they can (hopefully) reset the bushings, or you can kind of do it yourself by jacking up the car, loosen all the nuts and bolts of all rear suspension arms, jack up the hub to where it sits when the car is on the ground, and re-tighten all the bolts (this isn't necessarily the best way to do it but it'll get you close).

thanks to reply. after 1 day and 60-70 mile now height difference is minimal. But car pulls to the left, especially low speed and braking. i do alignment too. But nothing changed. The wheel is straight car is going straight but i feel the force to the left. i let off the driving wheel car is going to the left especially low speed and braking.

It sounds like the control arm bushings might be the cause of your uneven ride height. As mentioned above, it would be a good idea to loosen the lower control arm bolts and re-tighten while the vehicle is sitting on the ground. After doing that, I would definitely have the alignment re-checked. If you are experiencing a pull, your alignment still needs some work.
