I'm leaving next Wed for a trip from Venice, Fl to Toronto, Ont. in my 650whp ZL1. Can't wait! Going to hit the Trail of the Dragon and other scenic roads on the way back. Have done the drive twice in my old SS, the second drive a few days after installing a cam. Modded or stock these cars make great tourers!

We averaged 21.5 miles per gallon, and we were driving it hard. About half the time, we had the top down, and even at high speeds, buffeting was minimal. (We did have the windows up at high speed, it made a huge difference when the top was down.) Top speed, 114 mph in northern Utah, we had cruise control set at 102 for a while on I 84. The Nav system worked well, although it took a while to figure out all of its functions and where to find them. The seats were great, comfortable and supportive even for marathon driving sessions. Certain pavement types created significant tire noise, but that is to be expected with those big Pirellis I guess. Oh, and no tickets. My wife got pulled over in Washington state, but she let us off with a warning.

Anyway, it was a blast, so I thought I would share!
July 12th I head out with a friend on a 7000km + road trip to California. Gonna have a blast I'm sure! Many pictures will be taken, may even institute a dash cam. Glad you enjoyed the trip!

My first trip when we picked up our Camaro was ~800 miles. Picked up the car from Martinsburg, WV, drove to Atlantic City + Jersey Shore and then drove her home for the first time back up to Buffalo, NY. Great first road trip and great road trip car. Although the legroom for the 2 ppls in the back left a little to be desired we had a great time

I just did a 2700 mile road trip last month. From Tampa, to NOLA, St Louis, Nashville, and back home to Tampa. Car was incredibly comfortable.

When I changed duty station from Miramar(San Diego) CA to Cherry Point NC, my SS was still stock, and it was an amazing trip. driving on the mountains in AZ was great, the long stretch in TX. Only sucks when getting into heavy traffic(which is why I hate driving to see my family in NJ, screw I-95).
I can't wait to do a long distance trip now that I'm cammed.

Don't forget to use cruse control, keep some water with you and pack your phone or flash drive full of mp3s.

We drove 2800 mi round trip to Key West, FL and back! It was great fun driving, but the ride really sucked. Toooooooooo long on the road!

We averaged 25 mpg going there and back (not terrible considering i was going 80-90 the whole time. I guess you could say I was in a hurry to get home. 48 hours of driving in 4 days was no fun.)
