Fan speed
I tried searching to see if anyone had asked but I didn't find any posts. I have a 2LT and when I use the auto mode for climate control the fan speed is really high when on full blast but if I take it off manual mode and manually adjust the fan speed, the speed won't go nearly as high as it does on auto mode. Is that normal? I actually never used the auto mode until this week and that is when I realized that the fan speed goes much higher in auto mode (which I like) but I find it odd that I can't replicate the same speed by turning the fan speed to high manually.

On auto, and you have set temp set way low, like 68, it will blow hard. Try raising the temp number and it wont blow hard as it has less delta to close....normal.
Max fan speed can also be set in the veh settings, per the manual. |

Yeah I get that in auto mode the lower the temp the harder it blows. What I mean is if I turn on the a/c without using auto mode and I turn the fan all the way to high it does not blow as hard as it does in auto mode. Even with the temp on low. Is that normal?

As Glen pointed out, check the vehicle settings. There is a fan speed setting. Check what it is set at.

Is the fan really on a higher setting in auto than you can get in manual, or is the system in recirculate mode, in auto setting? There is more fan noise in recirculate mode in most cars, it sounds like the fan is on a higher setting, but it is not.

I think there is a setting to minimize fan speed at start-up..

Ok awesome will check settings when I get back to the car tomorrow. In work van today. I did not realize there was a fan setting option and I knew someone here could help me figure this out! Thanks!

I think the fan speed setting you are going to look at is for the auto mode. Aren't you asking about the manual mode?

I checked the settings and yes that was for auto mode and it was set to high. Here is what I am asking about. Turn off auto mode and then turn the fan all the way to high and the fan goes much slower than it does in auto mode (with fan turned high and temp all the way to low). I just want to know if that is normal? In other words I cannot get the fan to go nearly as high in manual mode as I can in auto mode and I thought that was odd.

Have you checked to see if the system is in recirculate mode when you are in manual? In recirculate the fan sounds like it is on a higher setting.

This is a real problem, I have it too on my LT RS V6. There is no rhyme or reason to the fan speed, regardless of whether you have Auto, Recirculate, or anything else selected. It appears to be random and I get different results at different times with identical settings. The car is in the dealer now for it's first oil change and they said I have the recall for the rear toe link against it too. They did reflash the HVAC system with new code, but I haven't got it back yet to test.
I also have a Laguna Blue 2014 Corvette...is the the same Glenn E on C7 forum too? Thanks, Steve AKA Guitar Man |

I have just been using auto mode since the fan blows way higher in that mode. Manual mode the fan never blows as high no matter what the setting so I have just stuck with auto mode.
