Bubbles & Wrinkles in Rally Stripes after installation
I am having a time with my stripes and getting very discouraged. I had my new Rallys installed today and on the drivers side there is 3 wrinkles and one of the wrinkles is 1 1/2inch long and the other two are 1/2 inch long where the contour of the hood is and there is tiny air bubbles all over the stripes. The stripe guy said the tiny air bubbles will disappear is this true and what would you do about the wrinkle. Before anyone responds please note that I am a perfectionist and I think is isnt acceptable, am I wrong? or are the tiny bubbles on stripes just a fact of life?

I don't know about the wrinkles, but I had bubbles in mine and after a few weeks they did go away.

The wrinkles are what I'd be worried about also. W/o a picture it's hard to say.
You buy the stripes from the installer? |

Got my stripes on ebay but its from a good seller and it was 3m material. I paid this company $125 for the installation and I feel like I got the shaft and I showed him 2 times about the wrinkles and he said they would come out with a heat gun and his heat gun defintely didnt remove them. Im so pist that i am tempted to dispute the charge with my CC company because now I have to buy new stripes in order to get the one side of the hood redone and im not sure I wanna go back to this same company to have them fix what they originally screwed up.

I wasn't questioning the quality of the stripes - more along the line if you bought from them then they should eat the cost of the new stripe. When you buy on line and have 3rd party then it becomes a risk.
Good luck - hope it works out for you. |

I agree but regardless if your company does wraps and all that other type of Vinyl work then my Rally Stripes should have been a breeze. He said 3 hours to install them but it actually took him less than a hour and I personally think he got in a rush...

My friends strip had the bubbles - took over a month to go away.
There gone now and it looks great. The wrinkles is another story. If they said a heat gun (carefull not to burn them) - let them do it. it's what you paid for. |
