May be a long shot but... question on head room
Hi All!
I currently own a base model v6 and I am finally ready to move up to a ZL1. I plan on getting a coupe and I wouldn't mind having a sunroof although I don't have to have one. I want to make sure I have a enough head room to wear a helmet with a sunroof, however, there isn't a Z close by that has a sunroof that I can go sit in and check the head room in. If I sit in my V6 with a helmet and have 2+ inches of room, would that mean I would probably be fine in a Z with a sunroof? Thanks! |

I've never had to worry about this, BUT I have heard there is quite a bit less headroom in the Sunroof cars.

I'm 6'2 and have to recline the seat when I wear a helmet because of the sunroof frame.

I currently have a Camaro convertible SS 2013 I went and test-drove a sunroof ZL1 2013 and it was very uncomfortable without a helmet on. I had to sit somewhat cockeyed. I'm 6'1". I would not make a commitment to buy one until I physically sat in it and drove it it was very uncomfortable I would not buy one for myself.

don't quote me but I think you loose about 2" with sunroof.I have an SS RS and its not uncomfortable but I don't race mine there for no helmet issue. If I had to wear one proly wouldn't like it much.I'm 6'.

I'm 6'3" and have just enough headroom to sit comfortably with my sunroof.
A helmet would be tough

Unless you switch to the Recaro seats, you should be able to test fit with any Camaro with a sunroof. However, the sunroof does take substantial headroom out.

I'm 6'2" and I have a sunroof in mine. With a helmet it's a tight squeeze but it's bearable.

skip the sunroof - esp. if you are going to wear a helmet in the car.
