Question Corvette c7 front license plate bracket on ZL1?

Hello,

Does anyone know if the C7 license plate bracket will mount and be secure in the lower grill of the ZL1?

I'm trying to avoid putting 4 holes in my new bumper.

Thanks in advance!

You may as well but it where it is supposed to be located...Chances are if you don't you'll get a citation for improper display of the license plate...

I've used the sto n sho baracket and have had no problems. I didn't want to drill holes in my bumper either. It mounts under the front splitter. I'm not lowered and have had no issues with clearance.

Did you drill holes in the support or reuse existing holes?

Since I don't have a belly pan (yet) I'm thinking I could put nuts and washers to hold a bolt better than just screwing into plastic.

Hey, just a friendly tap on the shoulder, maybe your profile info is out of date but looks like you have an SS and you're posting in the ZL1 section. The ZL1 and SS front end and mounting stuff is completely different except for the screw in OEM license plate mount. There's probably a lot more traffic in an SS section.

Sounds like he swapped the ZL1 front onto his SS.

Yep new front end. And to be completely clear, car will not be badged as ZL1.

Simply asking in ZL1 forum as new front end is factory ZL1 component set.

Oh alright, cool. Can't help with a C7 item, doubt anyone has done it but I know that Phastek carries a few options, I think they even make one that can go on the front tow hook (If you have that installed).

Here is a good option for a 5th Gen ZL1 License Plate that you don't have to drill holes in your car.

I sent Jason an email last week but no response. Wondering if he is still in business.

Just tried the C7 bracket. It won't fit. It is actually bigger.

That said the Gen6 SS bracket looks promising. It attaches directly to the lower grill of the SS.

Think I posted this before. Top Flight C6 bracket, upside down. I drilled two holes in the bracket (not the car) and used the existing splitter screws to mount.
