Depressing Story

I just dropped my Camaro off at the dealer so they can fix a door dent that happend on the lot. They have been very courteous about it, offering to fix it at no cost, and are providing me a loaner as well. So the manager pulls it around...

it's a Purple 4-door Cavalier. An absolutely depressing and hateful piece of equipment.

He must have noticed the look of dread on my face. As he came back into the shop he put his hand on my shoulder as if consoling for the loss of a loved one... he says "Don't worry, You'll have it back as soon as humanly possible". I'm thinking, "what is humane about replacing my beautiful machinery with this conglomeration of paper towels and spit?"

This is the first time I've driven anything else since I got my Camaro. Even though this car is half the size, inside it feels like St. Peters Basillica. The roof is literally 10 miles above my head, and the windows start at my waist. It handles like a 3rd world 25cc go kart that was assembled in communist Russia with a set of patio furniture and tile grout. The warm loving embrace of the Camaro's ergonomic cockpit has been replaced by the feeling of standing in a field on a windy day in January.

Until I get my car back... I may just walk. In fact, I may walk to the dealer when they call me to pick up the Camaro. I will just inform them on which lawn they can recover their tightly coiled dog pile.
Monday can not come fast enough... I need a drink...

I'm surprised they still have a Cavalier that they would put people in, a Cobalt wouldn't surprise me but Cavaliers haven't been made since like 2005 or something like that right? And they were absolutely horrible vehicles when they were new back then, I'm sure one that has been a "loaner car" for 5 years probably does look pretty bad.

I thought I had it bad with the bright red Kia Rondo I have for a rental car while my car is in the shope getting fixed from the accident.

LOL at the opening post. They should give you something nicer to drive. hell they must have a 5 or 6 year old used silverado sitting there on the lot.

I'm surprised you had to leave your car, at my dealership it took less than 15 minutes to remove a couple of dents.

It could be worse man.

Shortly after my grand dad bought his Trailblazer he started having electrical problems. Well he took it back to the dealership to get looked at and fixed. He is 6'6" and 290lbs and they gave him an Aveo to drive. Really pissed me off more than anything.

I feel your pain...when I bought mine it had a front plate, dealer agreed to fill the holes. I took it in and they gave me a rental..a 2010 Impala..now I have driven Impalas before,I drove one as my Patrol Car back in 2000/2001..at the time I kind of liked them, well I didn't hate them anyway...But after driving the Camaro and then getting in an Impala...let's just say the Impala now is on my top 10 list of cars I will NEVER drive again...most uncomfortable seats I have ever sat in!!
I had to drive it for a whole weeK! lol...it really sucked.....but at least it wasn't purple lol.
Just wait...it will make the Camaro that much more sweet when you get it back.

No offense to Impala owners...it just is not for me..
