My gosh, that's more expensive than 93 here by 30 cents, sometimes more!

Not again.... Guess nobody on here realizes why a direct injection motor takes 1,000 psi fuel pressure at the injector?

I don't believe that's the question... It's more what's best and not what's possible.

The grah on page 1 answers this question

Yes, premium adds hp indirectly by reducing knock retard. Is it worth it? Probably not.

Kind of.

If a car (not ours) is not experiencing KR with 87, then premium will do nothing.

(To the post before this one) Here's an LLT dyno showing the difference between 87 and 93... peak is the same, yes, but the rest isn't. Oh, and for the LFX timing graphs, the LFX actually cannot access the high octane spark tables without a tune, so it goes off of the low octane table, just with no knock on 93. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showpo...&postcount=118

For this post, yes, you're probably right unless it has a premium octane table to go off of or some form of timing advancement technology, though I suppose timing advance might go hand in hand with knock retard... hard to say.

You guys all failed to mention ethanol gets injected in lower octane pump grades which is not cool.

She vpower has no ethanol which is awesome for getting that extra 3% performance out of the car, increases fuel economy and in my opinion the life of the engine.

I can get 33mpg 7l per 100km using vpower but usually 31mpg using 87octane here in Canada
