How to add homelink / creative garage door opener solutions?
Hi all,
I have a 2012 SS and it doesn't have homelink. I am trying to see what people are doing. Yes, I am sure many just have their remote. I've considered just putting it in somewhere with double sided tape, but also wanted to see if there were other solutions. I have an onstar rear view mirror, which also has a backup camera attached. I would be ok losing that, since I don't use onstar and I also have a backup camera fed through my aftermarket head unit. I also feel like the mirror is entirely too big, and I can't position it correctly to see out of, so the idea of a frameless one sounds appealing. Otherwise, it looks like there is the spot overhead where the 2ss' have theirs, but not sure what's involved to add it there. Any suggestions or thoughts on this would be great. Thanks for your time!!! |

I didn’t actually add it to my Camaro, I added it to my wife’s Equinox. On it, there’s a spot on the dome light plate where they put it factory so that’s what I did. Maybe there’s a spot on the Camaro like that.

Check out this link for kit to add. BTW I have factory Homelike on my 2012 SS convertible so parts should be available. if not, a search of bone yards, may be an option. Last edited by ragtop1; 05-07-2021 at 05:15 PM. |
