What else would I need

To install the tru cool trans cooler - I know many here love it - https://www.amazon.com/Tru-Cool-LPD4...s%2C147&sr=8-3

Need to buy those recommend fittings ? Need any special tools to do the job? Looking to run it though the rad then the cooler then back to the transmission.

Never done this myself been considering doing it but haven’t pulled the trigger on anything yet. If everything is included I see in the pictures shouldn’t need much. The only thing is if you intended on keeping the lines metal so there was no rubber lines. You would need the obvious fittings and metal line. I am interested to see what others say about this as well

Is it that big of a problem keeping rubber lines? I know people prefer the metal ones but how much better are they? Aren’t half the tranny lines rubber anyway?

I don’t see a big deal with rubber personally. Just saying if you wanted to keep it all metal you’d need that stuff. If I’m not mistaken our Camaros trans lines are all metal

All of my cooler lines are rubber. Have been for 3 years when we did the install.

Haha thanks I’ve read it should take another half a quart after install. Gonna do the dipstick mod too before I install tans cooler and do the heritage grill and air scoop while the nose is off.

My big question I guess is - from the outlet of the radiator do I need a extra fitting to screw in there and add the hose to the cooler. Then also from the cooler to the return line - does that need a special fitting?

Thanks just want to get everything in advance before I start it

Hey I was wondering if you ever got your install done? I'm looking to do the same and was wanting to know if you had any part numbers for the fittings that you used? Also did you put it in between the feed line or the return? Thanks

I did it and it was very easy. I used the nipple that attaches to the radiator that people use to do tranny flushes and slid the other line right over the original line. Was a easy install and no leaks (I used 2 hose clamps just in case)

I ran it from radiator through the cooler then return line to transmission. Temps stay between 160-180 depending if in traffic.
