Great choice on color (I too think it's agm). Looks like a great place to visit. Hell, anywhere's a great place to visit as long as you're driving a 1LE

It is AGM, but your right some of the photos do make it look like it could be black. Borrego Springs is beautiful, but it is the middle of summer in the desert. I went there to view the Perseid meteor shower and while I was there it was about 105 degrees. Sadly the meteor shower was a bust because of overcast skies and the full moon. But I didn't come back empty handed.
The roads to and from San Diego to Borrego Springs are some of the best twisty stretches of pavement that you don't have to pay to use, and on top of it the views are quite nice. Switchbacks up to about 4000ft and then the same down the other side seem like they were made specifically for the 1LE. It makes me want to jump right back in the car and do it again. If you are in the San Diego area some of the guys are planning a trip up to Borrego on August 31st. I wont be able to attend but if you are in So Cal I highly recommend you make the trip at least once in whatever 2 or 4 wheel conveyance you can get your hands on. Here is the thread over in the California regional section if anyone wants to sign up. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=370525 |
