Cool JacFab now stocking Overkill 80mm throttle body kits

Just a public service announcement letting you guys know that Jacfab is now stocking the Overkill 80mm throttle body kits on the shelf. Same price as if you bought it at Overkill, but the shipping cost is about half as much since it's shipping from inside the US vs coming from Canada, and quicker time to receive also since its not being imported. All TB kits ship USPS Priority mail, so typical time in transit is generally 2-4 days. Same day shipping M-F if ordered before 12pm PST, or will ship the following business day if ordered after 12pm pst.

With that, we've always offered a combo deal discount ($50 savings) if you buy our ported intake manifold and intake manifold spacer together. With the addition of the Overkill 80mm TB kit now being on our shelves, we are now offering what we call a "Mega Combo Kit" discount, which gives raises that the normal combo discount to a total of $75 for the mega combo discount plus the mega combo ships free inside the continental US, so you save on the cost of shipping the 80mm TB kit by itself.

Anyway, thanks for reading! Any questions just ask. Anyone interested in any of the combo deal discounts must either email, or message me on the forum to ask me for pricing and have a payment invoice sent through paypal with the discounts applied, as our website can not currently handle discounts automatically.

Link to the 80mm TB kit page on our site below.

You'll have to contact me via a private message, or send me an email for pricing as forum rule prohibit me from mention pricing in the public section.

I think It's okay for me to mention the amount of the discount though. If you purchase the manifold, the manifold spacer, and the TB kit all together, you save $75, plus shipping is free inside the continental US.

Regarding the elbows, I do not believe there is anything currently known of that you can hook the 80mm TB up to the stock airbox with. I'm sure something could be done, but again, I don't think anyone has ever done it. I would recommend changing the TB and air intake back to stock for your inspection. The manifold looks stock on the outward appearance, so that could be left alone for visual inspection. We do not stock the elbows, and do not plan to, so you will need to source your own elbow or coupler to suit your particular CAI. There is a list of which elbows/couplers are recommended to suit different applications on the page with the 80mm tb kit on it on our website (link above in the first post).

Dang you Jason!

Every time I visit Camaro5 I see something that makes me want to break my mod budget.

Thanks.

Done it. Was lopeing like a cam, and then threw a check engine light. Pulled ECM fuses(again), then it drove home beautifully. Thanks Jason.

Jason - I'm considering this mod and have a few questions...
  1. I recall reading somewhere on C5 that if the manifold spacer is installed, the engine cover won't fit under the strut bar? Can you confirm?
  2. Elbows - the link on your website to the elbow needed for the CAI brand of intake doesn't look like it would connect to the tube that leads to the CAI airbox (angle looks wrong). Is that just a bad picture of the elbow or does it flex enough to connect directly to the CAI tube?
  3. Your Comments on state inspection and swapping back to stock. - is that more focused on California laws? I'm in Texas and my stock manifold / TB with the CAI has always passed. I think we're not as stringent on emissions as CA is, but would the modified manifold and TB throw of testing that much? Sorry - I'm a novice at this stuff...
I appreciate the input!

1. The engine cover will fit under the GM OEM strut bar with the spacer installed. However I have not confirmed fitment with any non GM after market brand strut bars

2. I spoke with Will @ Overkill about this, he says it is the correct eblow for a CAI unit. He also says it can fit better with some trimming on the end user's end, but that's up to you. I'm guessing the angle is close but not exact so there may be a little flexing involved.

3. I hear CA inspections can be a big deal, IDK how hard smog inspectors actually look but it will vary state to state. I've never heard any of my products not pass inspection, can't speak for Overkill. I imagine everything would be fine. I just throw out the parts can be changed out for visual inspection if people are worried about it. The ported manifold and spacer should be nearly undetectable on a visual inspection when assembled on the car. The throttle body; some may question it because you can visually see something going on there.

Hope that answers your questions?

Yes, the CAI elbow will go on, then rub on the radiator line up dowel. I ground off the dowel, then just trimmed 1/8 inch, maybe, on the elbow to the 80mm TB. Runs great. Just planning trip to return to stock for Calif Biannual smog.

Again, Thanks Jason for offering the bundle.

if i already have a ported TB and your spacer/intake for 72mm, is there any real benefit to going to 80mm?

Also can i modify the intake manifold on the car to properly fit the 80mm?

I honestly can't give you a good answer to that question. People claim to have noticed a difference when going from a ported TB to the 80mm, but I've seen no hard data. Will claims an 11hp gain from the 80mm, based on a 2013 impala going to an 80mm TB.

The manifold can be modified, we raise the floor for a 72mm TB for a smooth transition, it can all be ground/sanded out and the opening opened up to match the 80mm. You can certainly do it yourself, but if you wanted to send it in to us to do it, the cost is $90 with free return shipping for us to modify it (Most of the cost covers the return shipping as they're not exactly cheap to ship).

You'll have to contact Will about that, I know there is a 76mm option he offers, and I've heard there is an 80mm option that works, but the LFX 80mm kit we stock is not a direct bolt on to the LLT due to wiring/connector differences.
