I think most of these jacks are made in the same place and sold under a bunch of different brands. The reason I went with the HF Daytona, was the 3 year warranty vs 90 days to a year on the others. So far, so good with it but remember, most are cheap China junk.

here is a comparison of the arcan to the daytona:
Arcan Min height 2 3/4 " Max height 24" Length 32" Daytona Min height 3 3/4" Max height 23 1/8" Length 31 1/4" That is why I went with Arcan for the same price. There were a lot of good reviews too on Amazon. You would need to be by a Northern Tool store though. I had it shipped to the store to save the $50 to ship it. |

I like to do all my own work. So I like having over kill when I want my CrewCab F150 up, it's up in about 4 or 5 strokes. I run the Camaro's front tires up on a couple of foot long 2x10s, roll the jack under the sub frame, (it seems to work best with the jack about 6"behind the side mirrors) and run that side of the car up about 20". Put in 2 jack stands and move to the other side. Way easier to get this car on stands compared to both my Vettes.

Race ramps, and my Harbor Freight 1.5 ton low profile jack have done me well for ZL1 maintenance items thus far.

I have used mine on a lot of different vehicles with no problems. I bought it used from a pawn shop. I used to haul it around in the back of my truck and at some point the coupler on the valve broke so I have to open and close it with a pair of pliers, not a big deal to me.

i got the pitsburg jack everyone has from HFT, i find it kind of useless tho unless you need the wheels off the ground. its just too sketchy to jack such a nice car. too afraid of scratching the frame, car sliding off, jack bumping into car, etc. also pumping the car up takes more effort than i thought.
ended up getting me self some 56" race ramps after fiddling w the jack a bit. and those turned out to be the way to go for sure. |
