Dealer's Bogus Charge
Hey!
I'm on the verge of signing the Purchase Agreement and the Dealer slipped in a $195 charge for Shadowmark ATP Vehicle Labeling System. I checke; it does nothing to reduce Insurance Costs and I'm getting OnStar anyways, so it seems like a bogus charge to me. http://www.ctpc.com/ATP/ims2/ims.asp I'm buying from an out of area dealer (same State) and have the luxury of considering all the pertinent fees, charges and etc. without the pressure of being in a Sales Office and no option to rebut. I can take my time to get this right. How pissy do I get with the dealer to revise the Sales Doc. and remove the offending charge? I do feel that I am getting a good deal on the vehicle, but I resent being pressured and sold unnecessary goods or services. GENTLEMEN, START YOUR OPINIONS! Cheers! RixRad |

Get "Pissy" with the dealer? IMO Never.
I'm guessing you're referring to the window etch? I wouldn't want it either. As for disputing the additional charge? Simple answer... How bad do you want the car? |

You don't have to pay for dealer adds.

Yep, no reason to get pissy unless they get that way first. I have the luxury of working at a dealership where they don't do that kind of thing.
Just firmly tell them that you are not interested in that. Shouldn't be a big deal. |

Thanks for the input so far.
Perhaps 'get Pissy' is poor choice of words. I stand corrected. |

Contact CamaroScotty. He'll deliver, and he lived by the motto that MSRP is the maximum you should pay.

Sounds like a cool product, but it doesn't do a damb thing to help you prevent theft or recovery, if your car is stolen or chopped, already too late.

You can get those features added in the aftermarket with a system from Best Buy.
