February is Going to be a Good Sales Month for Camaro

The big Hendrick dealership down the street from me typically carries a large Camaro inventory. Looked at it today and inventory is way down. In fact they had almost more corvettes than Camaros. I looked at the offers and its 0% for 60 months. That is great way to move cars. I'm predicting a big uptick over January. $16.67 for every $1k borrowed made me buy a GTO in 2007. Hmmmmm.

Btw. Would never by from them. Additional dealer stickers with $1500 in nitrogen, 3m film, window tinting etc.

I agree Hendrick is shady with all their BS dealer add ons they try to force on you. They had I think $1,200 in BS dealer gimmicks they wouldn't budge on when I was looking for my Charger. So I drove 3 hours away and bought a car.

BTW don't get rid of the goat, love those cars.

The dealerships here in the Phoenix area have had the same inventory for months now. Nothing is moving. I hope that means some incentives are on the way.

When I worked at Honda (largest Honda dealership in northern California), EVERY car had a $1,500 mark up, justified as a security package (lug nuts and LoJack LOL).

Yup, a vehicle I looked at in September they didn't want to budge $500 on is still sitting on the dealer's lot, marked down by $5k lmao.

It's funny how that works out sometimes. A few months ago I was dead set on buying a used C7 Z06. I found one I wanted being sold at $79k. The lowest they were willing to go was $78k. I was 100% ready to jump on $76k but they never jumped. Month and a half later it was marked down to $72k before it was sold (not sure on the end price).

I lost interest in the Z06 two weeks after my test drive and decided to just dump another $13k into the 69 Mach1 (brakes and 6 speed + other stuff). I'm glad I did =)

Sales will continue to be horrible until they introduce some solid incentives. With the 2018 Mustang refresh, I can see sales dropping below 3k this time next year.

I am monitoring the sales for a few months now and the Gen6 is not moving. About the same cars in the dealers lots for months. The dealer OP is mentioning, must have been in luck or they may had some trade deals with other dealers or organizations.
Incentives are much needed if the GM/dealers want to start moving the cars, there is such a big stock already, some say about 6 months worth of cars already on the lots plus more coming from the factory as they resumed production (at a lower rate, only 2 shifts instead of 3).

Most of the ones around here according to Car Gurus have been on the lot for 100 days or more (one dealership have several at 145+ days)

Not sure about GM, but I know the holdback on Nissans typically would cover interest for a few months but some of these cars sitting have to be costing the dealers money.

The local selection for manual SS is pretty poor though. They are either loaded to the max with options or they are 1ss stripped. Nothing in the middle.
