Just unplug it, clear any codes that may be present and go from there. No residual affects of it having been there.

I love this thing, best $175 I spent on the car. No issues. I put a CAI and Ported Throttle Body on the car and made sure to recalibrate the VTC after installing both bolt ons. No issues...knock on wood...

And just to repeat... I have had my VTC installed for about 5 months with no problems whatsoever.

Bingo! Just like I said any part is going to have its issues whether its the companies doing or user error.
I recalibrated my VTC last night after installing new pedals took me a good 5 times to get it right after getting it right the first time when I first installed it. Quote:

That being said, at the end of my original message I should have completed the thought with something like "In light of a few people here and there having issues, I would still recommend the purchase because a very, very large majority of people say this mod is the #1 low-risk/high-payoff mod available without warranty jeopardy. The odds are vastly in your favor of not having any problems (as evidenced by most people's "Mine works great!") Also, while it was functioning correctly for me, it was just as advertised, and that is why I am willing to keep working towards a working solution in my case". I hope this clears it up, I have no issue with anyone here, just trying add my 2cents and maybe I wasn't sensitive to OP's context in which I put that? The thing is, the VTC is about as low risk of a mod as you can get. It costs less than $200, it snaps in, it requires zero modification of the car, doesn't hurt your warranty, and VTC has a money-back guarantee. If you don't like it, or if it doesn't work, you simply unsnap the wires and send it back. You get a refund. There is no evidence that it was ever installed. You don't even have to unscrew a bolt. Even if you are one out of a thousand who gets a CEL, it doesn't cause permanent damage to the car. Just take it off and send it back. Problem solved.
So there really is no reason to even ask "Should I get a VTC?" .. If you want to mod your car, it's a no brainer. Yet these threads always pop up, even though this topic has been covered a hundred times already.

For me, I just like having control of my gas pedal. More high performance cars today have this feature built in from the factory. I don't necessarily need it to enjoy my car, but I use it when I am in the rain. Helps me from spinning the tires, that and like I said depending on what mood i'm in is what setting I use.
Im one of those people that like to be able to manipulate everything about my car to my liking, this device lets me do that.
