Between Mobil1 and Pennzoil Platinum only...

There is a great write up on the LS1 forum about the entire oil breakdown, filter and lab testing.

Pay particular attention to SARGE'S replies and comments..guy knows his stuff..

A few great reads...

I recommend getting your oil analyzed once in awhile to see the health of your engine.

Amsoil 0W-30 is the best on the market. Look up and compare specs against anything else out there. I changed at 2500 and also put in the Amsoil Severe Gear 75W-90 and slip lock. Got 1 1/2 MPG at cruise at 70. I now get 26.5 on the road in Michigan. Just because I sell it does not make it the best. Amsoil makes sure every product they make beats the competition. If you do not think it makes a difference, then go drive a Chevette and compare to Camaro. There is a difference in products. Compare specs.

Just to let folks know something else about the Amsoil 0W-30. It is good for 35,000 miles or 1 year on the change. It is that good of a product with that good of a chemical additive package. If you buy cheap products then you get cheap quality and performance.

Probably not a good idea to change from the factory viscosity. Could be an excuse for a warranty void. Need to keep paperwork and make sure the oil is certified and same viscosity. Some even will void if you do your own changes.
