New member, another noob question

Hey all, I just joined tonight and for my second post (but first thread), I have a question.

The "USB" audio connector in the 2SS - does that allow for controlling an ipod through the stereo controls? Can it be added to a 1SS model?

it does allow you to scroll your ipod screens through the stereo.

it is standard on 2LT and 2SS models.

can be added to 1LT if selecting the Connectivity and Connivence package.

i believe that the C&C package is not avail. on the 1SS for some reason? can someone confirm that.....i'm not sure, i don't see why it isn't offered, but i think i remember seeing that you couldn't add the CC package to a 1SS...

You can add the USB after the fact to the 1SS.

How? Through the dealer or through an audio shop?

You can buy the PDIM(Personal Device Interface Module) from GM and have it installed. This gives you the USB connectivity. It is part number 92213212
I know I have read on this forum somewhere that people have done this.

No C&C on a 1SS (unless you do what BackinBlack said)
but there is an aux jack, and you would have to buy something like this to listen to your ipod

http://www.amazon.com/Apple-Audio-Au.../dp/B000M90UOU

you hook one end into the headphone jack for the ipod and the other end into the car, but i don't think you could control it through the radio this way

Knight, Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's and wive's here don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!

Thanks. Though I won't feel like a full member until I get my baby (in May I hope).

I know what I want, but affording it is the trick.

I use a cable similar to that to play my ipod, can't operate the ipod through the radio though (well just volume obviously).

That's crazy... I thought you could since I have it in my 1LT, but I just checked the build your own site and it's not an option for the 1SS from the factory. You can get it installed by the dealer though.
