Looking for Body Shop (Northern VA)

Anyone know of a great body shop in Northern VA?

I'm considering removing the factory front license plate bracket and having the center 18'' front plate area repainted and the whole bumper clear coated. I would bring a bare bumper for paint work and pick it up. They remove/install nothing from the bumper. Has anyone done this same thing? If so, were you happy with it? What did it cost?

D&V in Sterling is the best around. They are on the west side of Dulles.

I actually stopped by D&V Autobody today. They quoted me $715 and included 4 additional labor hours to put epoxy over the 4 rivet holes. Does that estimate sound a bit high? I wasn't planning for additional estimates but after that one i feel inclined to. I was thinking more like $400-$500. Is that reasonable?

Maybe I don’t understand what you’re looking for-are you going to hand deliver them the whole front bumper cover and you just want them to epoxy the four holes and then clearcoat the entire bumper cover?

You might want to also check with Dave Miller at TLC auto detail in Sterling - he and I have the same name but I am not the owner and we are not related. He may be able to help you out and then put a ceramic coating on the bumper cover.

I would hand-deliver my front bumper cover with all accessories removed. They epoxy over the holes, paint only the center section with the holes and blend it out 5-6" past each side of the holes, and clear coat the whole bumper. I pick it up and re-install.

I'll bet you can get it done cheaper but I can vouch for the work done at D&V. It won't save you any money but you can get a new one for under $400 and get it painted and you'll have a spare.

Good luck! Do you ever bring your car out to any of our local Cars & Coffees? Are you in the Virginia Camaro Club or track it at Summit Point? It's always good to see a 1LE around!

I pulled my license plate off today and was pleasantly surprised to find out my bracket isn't riveted to my bumper. Its drilled into the lower grill. I do have some deep scratches on my front bumper though so I'll be moving forward with painting it.

After weeks of getting the run around from multiple body shops I finally found David at Collision Specialists of Fairfax. I really can't say enough good things about working with him. He went far above my expectations. The price was fair, the work was completed quickly, and most importantly the paint looks amazing!

A few weeks of garaging my car for the new paint to cure and I'll give her a bath and re-trim all the accessories and be back on the road just in time for warm weather!

D&V took care of a $13k cosmetic repair on our truck. Sideswiped on the passenger bedside and door in a parking lot. Parts on my truck aren't cheap. I can also verify they do excellent work. Very professional repair and knowledgeable staff. I'd recommend them over Collision Specialists of Fairfax if you are selecting a shop on quality alone.
